Really can’t even say “On to Pittsburgh” right now. It’s hard to move on from what we just saw.

But I can say that ultimately I think the game will be a tell-all about this team. How they respond will say a lot about what direction this thing is headed.
I can already tell you....they are sloppy, lazy, poorly coached, and undisciplined....not great days ahead for this season unfortunately...

I thought you were talking about Pittsburgh for a second.

It will be a miracle if NE wins this time.

The Pats have owned the Steelers at home and all win and losing streaks come to an end. Tomlin is fighting for his job and a win vs NE saves him from the unemployment line the way I see it.

I don't think winning in Pitt will be a miracle. We saw one of those today.

We can revisit this after the next game. I’d be interested in seeing what cute Simpson’s meme you’ll use after we lose by 20+ and give up 50+ points.
You've been a Pats fan for a long time.

Take a deep breath. Think of all the times from "Patriots won't win another game this season" in 2001 after Bledsoe got hurt, to Tom Jackson's infamous "they hate their coach", to the 41-14 blowout loss to drop to 2-2 in 2014, to a 16-0 home loss to Buffalo two years ago, to ... well, almost every loss over the last 18 years.

It happens. It happens at some point to every team that goes on to win the Super Bowl in any season in this era.

Will the Patriots win it all? Doubtful; never bet on one team against the field.

But in my opinion there is not another team in the NFL that does not have similar flaws.

I'm not going to get all worked up over this game; to me it's not worth it. Personally, I'll enjoy the ride and see what happens before I declare the season to be over.

Well they're losing vs OAK right now. Hopefully the Raidahs can do us a solid

Saints and Bears are the only two good offense, good defense teams and both are in the NFC (although maybe you’d call Houston’s defense good?). AFC is pretty wide open.

True, but I heard he legitimately will not return.

That can only help us. At least Houston lost so we still have a shot at the 2nd seed.

Sorry my updates weren't working
All good, just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss something. They were deep in Pitt territory before Carr got strip sacked

My problem with the Pats is that I want them to win the games that give us more home games. I want that for the team's chances and for the fans who pay the freight. I especially want to see our long time fans get those home games. They deserve it after all those years of suffering.

I 100% believe, as asinine as it may sound, he is saving himself (or is being preserved by the team) for a "heroic" return next weekend; thus is the Steelers' obsession with New England.

Bill has suffered recent declines that many of us seem unwilling to admit. It’s happened to every legendary coach.

We have the Greatest QB ever. And Bill still does as good of a job coaching players that he has than ever. But you can only have SO MANY subpar drafts in a row before it becomes costly. It has finally come to a head the last two years, and the defense has been a let down at the worst times possible.

It’s sad. I’m hoping we can muster up one more run out of this, but this today is something that feels crushing.

The drafts have been an issue but they’ve been to 3 of the last 4 Super Bowls and won 2 on the backs of young talent drafted or signed as undrafted

The issue for the 2018 team is the total failure with respect to veteran players in the offseason and camp.

The ST has been awful to the point where the team had to add two veteran ST guys (McClellan and Humber). Think retaining Bolden, Richards or Bademosi would have been better? Not like roster spots are an issue - they cut down to 51 to make way for those two trash WR (Hansen, Darboh) who were quickly cut

The WR group was a mess until Gordon was picked up because of the disaster of losing Cooks and Amendola and relying on Britt, Matthews, Patterson and Dorsett

The DL has been an issue for years, outside of the 2014 season. Solution? Badly overpay Clayborn, trade for Shelton and ignore the position in the draft.

The LB group proved to be slow and thin in talent last year, a total disaster after Hightower got hurt l. Solution? Hope a plodding later round pick or two can help. Pray for Roberts and Van Noy to improve and expect Hightower to be at his best. Sadly, this group has actually been relatively decent compared to the garbage in front of them

The team has struggled at times to churn clock and put opponents away in big spots. Solution? Give their best run blocker a massive extension and draft a RB early. Result? Can’t run consistently anyway. Still overly reliant on throwing near the end of games. Forced to use trickery endlessly on offense to compensate for lack of reliable ground game

Now they’re facing a critical offseason with only 20M to spend and their two best linemen (Trent Brown on offense and Flowers on D) needing big contracts or external replacements. No really promising young talent at the problem positions. No real reason to expect a draft class to immediately improve the 2019 roster in a meaningful way (can hope for 2014 or 2016 success but hard to rely upon).

Looking bleak for any hope of improving. Best case is likely a continued slow decline and hoping Brady can carry the team on his back

Yes! Now they're winning

Psycho Tom is coming next week. Watch. They’re going to get eviscerated in the film review this week even though this loss is squarely on coaching.
