Kareem the Hunt(er)

I'm not impressed with the Chiefs now cutting ties with Hunt. I'll start believing NFL teams take violence against women seriously if they start cutting ties with players before the video is made public. The Chiefs' behavior compares unfavorably to that Patriots, who cut ties with Hernandez even without a video of him killing those three people.

Most men are fully capable of physically dominating most women. Any man who beats up a woman (even if they are out of line) is a little scumbag *****. And that is Ray Rice, Kareem Hunt and many others.

If a chick is punching or legitimately harming a guy that is one thing. Otherwise if you at least a semi decent man, you just walk away if a girl gives you a little shove or is being a meanie.

Women should be treated equally and similarly but not in the sphere of physical violence.
Then they’re not being treated equally and similarly. If you want true equality, you have to take the good with the bad. Throw hands at a man and accept it when he throws one back. I’m of the position that a woman is a man’s equal in many regards. As I said, cognitively, the ability to do many jobs at or better than the level of a man, etc. For example, if I was tasked with sending an expat overseas to European countries for my company, I’d strongly consider a woman. Women tend to work harder and longer, studies have shown, to build lasting business relationships because they go with a pre-developed sense that they won’t be treated as peers by their male overseas counterparts. But, in a physical sense, unless we’re talking about a woman who has been trained (ala Ronda Rousey) and a man that hasn’t (your average Joe that slams an 18 a week and rips key bumps in the bathroom stall of a dive bar on Saturday nights), a woman is not a man’s physical equal. Therefore, they should not be treated as such, a man should keep his hands to himself around a woman and physically restrain her if she has to, and we as a society should quit pretending that we buy into this utter nonsense that everyone is equal.

Alright. Which one of you sent the video to TMZ?

The timing is intriguing, though this is a joke, I still wonder who is behind this.
Did Kareem stop paying the girl? Or got contacted and did not pay up? Or did organization that stand to gain facilitate to get the video out there? It appears the girl had the video in her phone which Kareem's people initially tried to steal. NFL says hotel did not want to release the video, but the two set of videos has been edited by TMZ.
I guess maybe TMZ paid a lot to the girl and hotel staff as the third alternate?

He will be playing by this time next year. No doubt.

Somebody who worked at the hotel realized that Christmas is one expensive holiday......

Agree. I’ve always thought that you weren’t my equal ;). Really nice thought, Kontra, where the individual is accountable and valued for their own abilities and skills. Unfortunately, people...

Chiefs released him because they claim Hunt lied to them about the incident. I don’t think it’s the content in the video itself that would bring on such a reaction from KC.

It wasn't the content.

It was the video going public.

I don't buy the fact they cut a 23 year old 1300 yd rusher because they were lied to

especially considering they have no problem still keeping Tyreek Hill whom did much worse...but theres no video!

Amazing how so many times on domestic abuse cases the NFL cant seem to find the evidence until after TMZ posts it and they look bad so they finally do something.

Yet in the case of deflated footballs, we can scour, suspend belief in science and go on a scorched earth policy

I hate how this whole thing has unfolded. Clark Hunt is a hypocrite of the highest order. He knew about this a long time ago, and about the punching incident at the Ohio resort in June. Did he do something about it then? No. Did he discipline Hunt? No. Did he compel Hunt to seek treatment despite the troubling pattern that had begun to develop? No.

Only when it blows up on the media is Hunt cut, without any further ado. The message is loud and clear: all players are commodities, and their infractions are tolerated unless it becomes a PR problem.

And as for Kareem, what he did was inexcusible- but I guarantee you he grew up in an abusive family (otherwise there is no way he would have done that) and like most players he grew up with violence, is paid to commit violence, and knows no other solution than violence. For him as for most players, violence is the solution to everything, including their own survival.

Cutting him on the spot is not going to teach him a lesson. It's just going to confound him because he's been rewarded for committing violence all his life. If anything it'll harden his lifelong grudge against women.

Of course some chiefs fans on chiefsplanet are already downplaying this as not as bad as Ray Rice. Lol! Kareem Hunt kicked her while she was down and dazed.

You honestly think that was as bad as Ray Rice?

Yep. Not buying it. They saw it. They were hoping it would go away or never see the light of day

They were ok with Hill because she never pressed charges, the courts resolved the issue before he was drafted.

How would they have seen it? Who would have shown it to them?
