Is Brady having some subpar games? Or is he physically declining.

same crap after every game that the pats gift to their former friends.......

it's bye week.......even if brady goes down a little earlier than he used to......he's one of the few guy who can say 'meh, I'll just burn 'em on the next play'

the bigger question is why hogan is on the field if brady isn't going to throw to him

Not really. Didn't offer any useful insights.

Usefulness is all relative. If you don’t like it don’t respond.

Didn't go through this whole thread, but here's my 2 cents. I think we've all be used to Brady playing at a ridiculously great level, especially after the age of 37, that when he doesn't play up to those standards, it shocks people somewhat and they automatically feel he's fallen off a cliff. He's still playing at a much higher level than Peyton did his last year, and Favre did at 41. But it's not at the level we saw, even from 8 months ago (the insanely great, record breaking performance in SB 52).

Noticing some trends, that have effected Brady in the past. The locking onto receivers, and not hitting the open man. The one that shocks me, is this year, Brady is DEAD LAST IN THE NFL vs the blitz. Last year, he was #1 in the entire NFL in vs the blitz.

So my thoughts on this are, there are reasons to be concerned, if you're not, you're just being naive. The question will be, can Brady pull himself out of the funk of sub par Brady (sub par as far as what we are used to), or will things get worse. I would love to see the Brady that proved doubters wrong after the KC blowout loss in 2014, and the Brady who came back pissed off after his 4 game suspension. I hope he still has it in him.

I think it was just a bad game. There have been some issues all year with receivers, but his two favorites, Gronk and Edelman, how many games have they both been there? I haven't seen the Steelers lose Brown or JuJu for any extended period, nor have I seen KC lose Kelce or Hill for any length of time either. I live near Pittsburgh and they haven't had any O-Linemen lose any time to injuries and theirs is expensive. It's a big reason why James Conner looks like Emmitt Smith and Ben Roethlisberger has barely been touched in the last few weeks. If Brady had that kind of time he'd be rolling up 400+ yard passing games every week. But the injuries on the line, to receivers, to running backs and the lack of trust he has in some guys...it's 95% of the problem. Do I think Brady's as good as he was in 2010? Of course not, but he's still an excellent QB who's capable of winning a SB in this league. But these other issues need to be worked out. Team needs to get healthier first and foremost, and then he can start building trust to distribute the ball more. I always feel the Patriots are best when everyone's contributing.

It wasn’t Brady. It was Brady plus 45 other guys and 10 coaches. They all looked stoic, mechanical, disinterested, like they were sick of football or didn’t want to play against Ryan and Lewis and Butler. Very odd game.

Agree 100%......we always hear, team sport, the whole team was simply off. It’s a long season and every team has a game or two when they just don’t bring it. Sometimes, even when a team is off, some things go their way and they win in spite of being off, Sunday was not one of those days.

As for Brady, I think he’s fine. Maybe a visit from Tom House during the break will fine tune things and get some guys back rested and healed up.

One aspect that hasn’t been mentioned much is Mr Josh McDaniels, to me he seems to have a couple of horrible games. Where were the 1/2 time adjustments Sunday? Where is his innovative play calling? You actually risked putting Brady out in the flat needing 7 yards? Seriously??

All of that being said, a little hot streak down the stretche, capture the #2 seed. Win the divisional, then take care of Rivers, again, and I’ll see y’all in Atlanta!!

I have been thinking the same thing about McDaniels. Sometimes he looks great; some games he makes great adjustments. Then there are days like Sunday, or the Lions game, where he seems pedestrian and lost. I think most of the OCs in the league could have done a better job Sunday than he did. I don't know how much of that was Brady locking on to Edelman/Gordon when they weren't open. But at a minimum, we seemed to abandon the run game really early, and it cost us dearly in the form of pressure and sacks that might not have happened had we stuck with the run.

He’s got help making adjustments. It’s not all on hm.

We all need to give TB a break!!!

The guy gets beat down by all the haters... Writers, media, opposing fans, ANALysts, asshats.… everybody.

But, the worst part is Patriots fans.
Brady gets a few "Your the GOAT", "We love you" when the team wins....
Just last week, the stadium was filled with GOAT BS..

Everybody loves him when he's playing better than any person has ever played.
But the guy stumbles, and we 5h!t on him.

Could you imagine if he read these comments here alone?
I'd say screw you, good luck, if I were him.. But I'm F'd up.

Brady is fine. The team sucks, as a whole sometimes.

It's just not a complete, healthy team. Stretched too thin at the moment.

Let's just cut the guy some slack. Give him more a 1 game slump.
He deserves better than that.

It will be tough go to get anywhere near the SB.
But really, who else would you trust try to get us there.

As much as we want to, getting to the big game is extremely hard to get to, let alone win.

….But guess who has, 8 times!!!!

Insulting to how great Brady used to be if you think this is business as usual for him.

He can certainly turn it around, but this game and the past few games hasn't been up to par to what we are accustomed to. That is-- Brady getting beat up but still standing strong in the pocket and making accurate throws. Not so much recently.

I found it useful in the sense that it’s showing us a big difference in the Brady of now, versus the Brady of old. He has chewed up blitzes fairly consistently over the years. That much, we know. At any rate, we’ll need a better sample size to see if he’s declining, and to what extent that is.

I think he may just be seeking Gordon out too often. They probably work on different stuff throughout the week, and it seems as though Brady is locked in on him and missing other open reads. If that’s the case, he should be able to correct it fairly quickly.

Or, maybe it’s as simple as realizing that Gordon is really, really good and he could be the difference maker for this club come playoff time.

Since Gordon is definitely making great strides picking this offense up, get him his reps now. Expose him to everything and he could be full go come playoffs.

Combine an up to speed Gordon with a healthy Jules & Gronk and of course James White, I’d say we’ve got ourselves one hell of a passing attack. Potent enough for me to believe Brady can capture #6 this year!

Good article on why Tb12 is struggling against the blitz

The All-22: Why can’t Tom Brady beat the blitz?

Aggravating to see some of those blitzes that killed us

The Green Bay game they did a basic 4 man rush using 3 DL and a Lb against SIX pats offensive lineman.. the blitzing LB went thru untouched.

6 v 4 in favor of the offense and a LB hammers your quarterback UNTOUCHED!

Incredible, it’s no wonder why Brady gets anxious back there

That's why I'm of the opinion that they need Mason back just as much, if not more, than they need Gronk back.
