Would he even still be in the league if it wasn't for the Patriots giving him a chance to revitalize his career?

I bet at best he'd be a backup making league minimum.

Also, it's not about going cheap. They spend as much as anyone else. It's about allocating resources under the salary cap.

What do the BB apologists have to say about this?

Why do people in this thread keep talking about Burkhead vs. Lewis as if they let Lewis walk and then signed Burkhead?

Burkhead had already been on the team for a season and given Dions injury history adding another back made sense. Just hasn't panned out but it's not like they made an either/or choice this off-season ffs

He got the money he wanted, we have the RBs we wanted at cheaper deals, moving on.

Though didn't expect Dion to talk about us like this.

What is that ? Frederick Douglas + Prince + Ironsides?
From the Shamayan movie Unbreakable with Bruce Willis. The Samuel L.Jackson character has 'brittle bone syndrome" and breaks bones easily.. I wont give away any more....

Pretty stupid of Dion. One thing to trash talk a former team or a good old natured ribbing, but he’s a guy who could be in line for a future job with the team as a media personality. Calling ownership “cheap” is pretty low. That’s fine if he wants to use that as his motivation, and I admire that. But in one minute of fleeting glory, to burn a lot of your entire fan base and legacy?

Regardless, he’s still one of my favorite Pats if all-time, as is Amendola. I just think both of them are doing themselves a huge disservice in the long run. Their names will always be associated with the championship Patriots, so why do that?

He has every right to enjoy a victory over a team which decided to move on without him. I get it, it's his moment to gloat. But, he ought to also realize and acknowledge that the "cheap" Patriots also took him off the scrap heap and have him an opportunity when he was down and out. Taking a shot at your former team in his circumstances is understandable to m me. But, he went too far with his comments today and only proved to me how petty he is. I'm both surprised and disappointed. And he can go #### himself...

His comment is particularly stupid because frugal cap management is what has separated the Patriots, Steelers and Packers from the rest and allowed them to remain competitive consistently over the last 2 decades.
LMAO, yeah, that's why those teams are good every year.

Ah, you're back, huh?

Just using the actual team you root for in your username this time.

No wonder you railed against Hogan in that one thread.

Dreighver: I am not the person you seem to think I am. That was legitimately the first post I have ever made on this website. In fact, I made this account back before the season, but it took a long time to get confirmed to actually post. Like, legit a month. I kind of forgot I had an account until that one comment made me think of it.

Honestly, I'm not the person you think I am. In fact, I'm so new I couldn't even figure out how to quote you initially.

Secondly, the reason why you guys, the Steelers, and Packers have been so successful every year is because of one thing. Tom Brady, Big Ben, and Aaron Rodgers. Plain and simple. Doesn't matter how frugal you are in the cap. If you don't have a QB, you have nothing. Look no further than my pitiful Bills.

Movie is what? 18 years old? I think spoilers are fair game.

Lewis really showed us getting 2.8 YPC lol.

Who ****ing cares? It’s only a big deal if you let it be. I swear, you put one person in front of the mic and it’s like “oh my god, the disrespect.”

I get wanting to stick it to your former team, but all he just proved is what a little d-bag he is. It isn't like BB had a better plan in place, it just sucks that Jeremy Hill went down.

Look at it this way- he loved the Patriots, wanted to play there, but they wouldn’t match TNs offer....he feels like his former team didn’t value him, and wants to stick it to em’ when he plays them. I completely get it and find his reaction & elation totally normal. I’ll always love him& his cat-like quickness.

Shame he wasn't able to stay healthy in 2015 (plus the other guys who got hurt that year). That team was magnificent. He presented a ton of problems for defenses and we had some crazy win % whenever he got lots of snaps.

But the bottom line is that he feels betrayed and now he's airing his feelings out. I dunno, it's just hard for me to be critical of that.

Hey...anybody ever see this game????????????????????????????

I was sick when he missed that FG. I was pulling for the Bills each of those 4 years they lost. AFC all the way baby.
