NFL Trade Deadline “Ideas”

Hazing ? I'm much too old for that
Anyway being serious again I've been looking for a decent board that has guys who just offer an opinion on something a poster says (trade idea draft pick etc...) instead of calling him names and acting like 2 year olds
The last one I was on a different poster was mad at BB for not trading up to get Barkley I said in exact words "Michel is doing just fine there are other issues to be concerned with" everyone started calling me a troll and all that bs
I wont post what I told them but this board looks pretty good

Welcome aboard.

If you say anything in the realm of "the defense sucks balls " I'm going to snap. :D

Jk

Some practice squad players to consider:

1. Jeff Holland, LB, DEN
2. Jonathan Williams, RB, IND
3. Daeshon Hall, DL, HOU
4. Bucky Hodges, TE, PIT
5. Keith Towbridge, TE, BUF
6. Treston Decoud, DB, DAL
7. Darius Jackson, RB, DAL
8. Tyree Robinson, S, DAL
9. Avery Moss, LB, NYG
10. John Atkins, DL, DET
11. Cole Hikutini, TE, MIN
12. Dezmen Southward, S, CAR

These players would cost nothing. Not even a draft pick.
Really like Bucky Hodges and Cole Hikutini.

Cassius Marsh v2.0.

Precisely. He's another guy who wants to go somewhere where the coach makes it fun. The reason the Patriots get to the AFC Championship every year and frequently to the Super Bowl is because they avoid (or cut) these guys who never emotionally progressed beyond high school.

DL Atkins was signed by the Pats as a UDFA last May. Stayed through OTAs and Camp. Played in all four pre-season games. Waived in cutdowns.

That is why I included him in my list of practice squad candidates to consider. We do have a need at DT for 2019. He was waived due to a logjam at DT; likely in hopes of signing to the practice squad. Unfortunately for us, he signed with the Lions.

The Pats had two undrafted DTs through OTAs and Camp. One was Atkins (6027/321) out of Georgia. The other was Frank Herron (6033/303) out of LSU. Herron was signed to the Pats PSquad on October 8th.

“Every general manager I spoke to this week said he believed there was the potential for at least three-to-five more potentially impactful trades to be made, with the Patriots, Eagles, Steelers and even the Saints identified as clubs that could take a big swing to try to fortify their Super Bowl odds.”

“The Patriots and Eagles have expressed interest in Broncos veterans, sources said, with Emmanuel Sanders, Chris Harris and Bradley Roby all being talked about.”

La Canfora is less reliable than Schefter/Rapsheet but I’ll play along:

  • I’d rather start J. McCourty with Jackson competing with him than trading for a half year of Roby’s salary.
  • Emmanuel Sanders doesn’t really make sense unless you ship Hogan to the Texans to fill the void of Fuller.
  • Harris is a stud with an affordable contract & has a patriots type attitude. Would the team relegate J. Jones to the bench & Dawson to third string slot?

Would Broncos be willing to trade Shane Ray to the Patriots? Say for a 4th rounder?

He is stuck behind Chubb & Miller in Denver and is nursing a injury. His rookie contract will end. But, he is 25yrs old and has speed as LB.

If so, I'd also throw in a 7th rounder, if needed.

How about Haason Reddick? He is a the backup plan.

Glazer on the Fox preshow said Pats are looking for a premium WR and are willing to offer a high draft pick
