CB has been a problem.
S has been a problem.
LB has been a problem.
DL has been a problem.

Other than that, the defense has been great.

That's why I'm all for Loading up on the Offense and say screw it: just hope we have the Football last.:D

Interested to see if Dawson returns to the practice field today. Pats clearly thought highly enough of him to draft him in the 2nd round - could help out at CB for the 2nd half of the season.

You WIN......something!

Looked good in limited opportunities. Could fill a strong slot role, which could use support, especially with Rowe reinjuring his groin.

Wonder who loses his spot to Dawson. Probably Crossen, but Rowe could be a dark horse cut candidate. Always the unfortunate possibility that someone will get hurt and go on IR when the roster decision needs to be made.

I hope we keep Gronk out against Buffalo, just give em the extra rest, especially with that lingering ankle issue.

Agreed, but only because I’m playing against him in fantasy.

Let's hope I mean they did trade up for em so looking forward to see what he is made of.

Seems doubtful it would be Crossen since he's been making positive contributions on ST the past four games. Rowe, OTOH, doesn't play ST, hasn't been very good on defense, and re-aggravated his near-constant groin injury again @CHI. He wouldn't be missed.

Hopefully we atleast make some type of trade before the deadline that benifits the defense.

Do we save any cap room by cutting Rowe? Or do we have to trade him for that?

That was the hope for Cyruss Jones and slew of other Second Round DB's who flamed out. Lets hope Dawson works out but the Patriots Drafting a DB in the Second has not been a recipe for the player's success lets just hope Dawson bucks the negative trend.

Doesn't deserve its own thread, so I'll just put it in this CB thread.

Samuel talks some smack, people respond by crushing him for dropping the potential game winning INT in 2007.

Asante was a good player, the 2008 passing defense suffered for not having him on the field. Wasn't worth highest paid CB money, but a good player nonetheless. It is what it is.

And Asante's right. Who has Bill drafted that's been better than him? Butler wasn't drafted. McCourty made his mark as a free safety / general defensive back, not as a pure CB.

Edit: Probably the only competition is Logan Ryan. I liked Ryan and he improved each year with the team. But Asante was better.
