Patrick Peterson Wants Out of Arizona

Peterson's 2018 salary was $11M, so $5.5M left after week-8. If the Cards would be willing to whittle that down to around $2.5M by converting salary to signing bonus, it might be doable. If the Pats throw Rowe into the trade, that cuts the net cap hit by about another $500k (and clears the roster spot).

Salaries are broken down into 17 payments, not 16. It would be 9 payments remaining.
$11M / 17 = $647058.82/ week
9 weeks = $5,823,529

Unless @Miguel says otherwise, I believe that the Patriots could re-do the contract by giving him a $4M SB and treating the rest as salary.

I thought #2 CB was always open spot for BB. J-Mac stepped up ok but the continuing rotation (on Sunday alone he rotated 3 CBs opposite Gilmore) is a sign he wouldn't mind/is open for upgrade.

And while the coverage was pretty good most of the time . if Peterson could step in and play in this system close to Gilm0re's level (which is not a given - just remember Gilmore's struggles early) that would be bigger for “front 7“/box play and D in general than any LB move people are so desperate for..

Its not a necessity (esp. with new young corners promises) but could be great opportunity esp. for this season.

If rumours are true Pats should be the highest bidder considering both draft capital and cap space situation over next 2 yrs (NO has no 1st or 3rd rounder in 2019; PHI is 16M in debt in 2019 cap). If BB really wants something he is usually the highest bidder (also easiest to make a deal with).

Plus we are the only team in a different conference if zona has an reservations about trading him to an NFC squad

Do we have any Offensive Linemen we can spare in a trade to Arizona? They're in dire need.

Peterson's cap hit is also SUPER friendly in this day and age.

$14 mill this year (would be reduced), $11 next year, and $13 after that. Above average corners are given more than that, and cutting him would be simple if necessary.

For anyone trading for Peterson, they would need $5.823M for this year.

Peterson's cap number would be $11.25M (salary and roster bonus only) and 12.55M in 2020.

All 3 are very friendly considering the type of player.

I hesitate to jinx NE, but are we actually talking about the possibility of adding Gordon & PP while NOT losing Michel & Gronk to something severe ??

JC Jackson was exposed, committing fouls after fouls after fouls. How was jamming receiver in the face a good idea? Even on his reception, he tried to pull.

If the cost isn’t too much and we can make it work with the cap go get this guy! He’s in the conversation for best corner in the game.

Isn’t this McFadden guy Peterson’s cousin?

Yes. Bryant is Peterson's cousin.

Just as an aside, Wilks said emphatically, that they aren't trading "Patrick". To me that is the death knell that Peterson will be gone before the next game.

Cole croston? :D
It sounds like a bad idea til you think it thru but Cannon.
Waddle and Brown have been fine.
Save the cap from Cannon.
Other option would be Chris Hogan.
I dont hate the guy I just feel hes not worth the money he wants.

Cut or trade rowe

I can tell you this. My g/f used to work at a bank branch here in Phoenix and PP used to come in all the time. Cool dude. One time the Pats came up and he said yeah he would like playing in NE. This was about 5 years ago, but never said anything cause it wasn’t needed. I like the idea.
