One of if the most underrated Patriot player, don't let the stats fool you he could of easily had 2 more picks this season, and honestly screw Butler, if J.Jones played in SB52 we win, meaning Chung doesn't play slot cause Jones would of. 31 deserves some respect

He’s got promise for sure. I hope he stays healthy and keeps the other DBs on the bench or in the dime defense

Gets flagged a bit

Cat like quick (?)

He’s got a certain scrappy quality I like, somewhere between Butler and Arrington. Aikman noted him being grabby when beat or out of position, and that’s fair (but better than giving it up, right?). Not a superstar, but exactly the kind of DB that NE usually makes excellent use of - doesn’t give up big plays, makes lots of small ones, is at least around the ball when it get to his guy, and tackles pretty well.

Weirdly, I went into this season feeling confident in Gilmore and Jones, and a lot less so in JMac and Rowe. So I agree that Jones has been great, but at least IMO hasn't been a huge surprise. He's pretty much picked right back up where he left off in a more prominent role (which isn't anywhere near a given when a guy gets a more prominent role, so that's great). The bigger surprise for me is that JMac has looked solid since Rowe went down. There isn't a lot of track record for corners in their 30s with an injury history like his playing well.

He is a very good dB, I think he is one of our fastest players and will likely end up being one of the best dbs we have drafted.

The best part is he wasn't even drafted.

He’s a good slot CB. Was a big loss in 2017. I agree we possibly win that SB if he was there.

A combination of speed and competitiveness will take you a long way.

I was concerned when he went down at the end of last season that his speed would suffer in the long term, but it seems to be more or less back (I haven't watched him closely on special teams, which is where it was really obvious last year).

Excellent player who will, I hope, get even better.

I fear his groin injury is going to be very problematic for the D. After re-watching the Bills game, Jackson is an outside corner. JMac has the same injury that he recently re-injured. Groin injuries just remain problematic unless there is enough time to rest. The bye will be great for both players, but we really need J. Jones, as he's a jack of all trades type in the secondary and probably our fastest corner.
