NFL Sunday Ticket may leave DirecTV next year.

Not good. This will get expensive to upgrade my father's man cave. 5 TVs and the remote will need to be updated.

As someone who hates DirecTV, this is great news. Make it available elsewhere please.

If NYJFL* league gives the Sunday ticket rights to Dazn like they did for Canada you might be wishing DirecTV still had the rights.

Although Dazn struck a deal with Canadian TV providers since it was so crappy it's not a guarantee they would do that for the US if Dazn gets the rights. But hey, it's USA, yahoo/amazon or someone will outbid Dazn.

I hope it happens. Would probably buy NFL ticket if there weren't so many restrictions related to DirecTV.

I don't think it'll effect me one way or another. I have Commiecast/Xfinity and use Sunday Ticket through the app installed on my Fire Stick. If it did, I would just use a cable connected from my laptop to my TV and watch it on the Reddit streams.

I have DirecTV. It’s expensive, but it has great video quality unlike cable, which is compressed multiple times and looks like crap.

For those cheering this, I'd warn that the price is probably going to go up since Goodell will chase every last dollar to line his own pockets and those of the 32.

Well logically the NFL isn't going to be opting out of the contract to get less money.

I won’t go back to DirectTV. I got overbilled from them every month. I had to file a greivance with the FCC to get out of my contract. I hate streaming of reddit so at least I will have the option if someone else picks it up.

Honestly, so far, the VPN + Gamepass solution has been fantastic this year. Last year was the first major blip on the radar of issues and they have been resolved through the 10 or so games I've watched live so far.

IIRC it was $180 for game pass and then I pay $10 a month for ExpressVPN. I use ExpressVPN for other things (no not child porn, you a-holes) so there's additional value there for me, but a $180 one-off payment that takes care of all of my NFL needs is worth it to me and seems cheaper than paying for DirectTV + Sunday Ticket.

Good to know but based on your track record it's got be for something nefarious.

I get Sunday ticket on my X box without having a Direct TV subscription. It’s great.

I think the move is to make it available on streaming services provided on Apple TV/Amazon.

I feel like many don’t get Sunday Ticket due to their contempt of DirecTV. Make it available across more formats and subscriptions could skyrocket.

Amazon has the $$$ for this easily

Don't get me wrong...I totally agree it would be better across multiple platforms. DirecTV will probably come up with an enormous bid because they are dead without exclusive rights.

The streaming product, as I've seen it so far, doesn't cut it for a big screen, although it's fine for a tablet. It has buffering issues, though, and some outright interruptions to go along with the quality fading in and out.

Please be Amazon.

I finally caved and got DirecTV for Sunday Ticket a week ago. I tried the whole Kodi route, local antennas, other dicey online services, and just couldn't get it to be reliable like others here.

I used to be able to connect my iPhone to the TV through a HDMI splitter and the picture was great. As of this year week one, I now get a message on the TV that says “HDMI output not supported.” It’s a real bummer because not only am I losing the ability to watch on the big screen, but I’m stuck holding my phone/tablet the entire time.

Like you said, I do have an app on my smart TV, but the picture is total ass. It’s choppy and it freezes. How are the reddit streams? I’ve never tried them, but I’m assuming that it’s much of the same.

Please god, let this happen ASAP.

I want to get rid of my satellite dish, set up box, and etc...

I don't care about how much I need to pay (although, they should offer team specific packages along with the RZ channel).

This would also get me away from At&T's so-so DSL based Internet for which I get a bundle discount for....

The problem is that DirecTV is AT&T now.....so AT&T will be bidding just to keep it's DirecTV branch profitable....for some reason AT&T won't bring Sunday Ticket over to AT&T's Uverse TV service nor the DirecTV Now app...nor sell Sunday Ticket access as a standalone app....annoying....

And college kids get Sunday Ticket via wifi….just because they can't mount dishes in college dorms...total BS.
