Kaepernick’s Lawyer suggests Pats are Interested

The Patriots are a well-oiled machine, and adding Kaepernick to the mix would be like replacing the oil with beach sand. No thanks.

It would be a PR disaster among the New England fan base, and likely see folks leave and not come back while the Krafts are the owners.

Whether you see it that way or not is irrelevant. It is what it is. It's definitional.

And trying to claim that social issues aren't political, as if there's no overlap, is ludicrous.
Actually it’s not definitional. Unless you think most conservatives are in favor of police brutality and racial inequality and most liberals are not, or vice versa. If the players were protesting global warming, income inequality , gun control or other political issues where the two sides disagree I would agree with you that the player protests are political. But definitionally they are not. You haven’t explained how these are political issues other than to say they are. The politics have been inserted into the discussion by others, not the players.

BTW, Kaepernick signing with a team doesn't materially affect his grievance:
If Colin Kaepernick signs, it wouldn't end his grievance

If Kaepernick signed with one team, and if that team was removed from Kaepernick’s grievance, there would still be numerous potential combinations of colluders from the remaining 31 teams and the NFL. To extend that point, even the team that signs Kaepernick would not necessarily be removed from Kaepernick’s grievance. Keep in mind, Kaepernick filed his grievance on October 15, 2017. Under Article 17, a grievance must be brought within 90 days of the time when the player knows, or reasonably should have known, that he was victimized by collusion. It’s possible, then, that the team that signs Kaepernick in September or October 2018 colluded against him within 90 days of the day he filed his grievance in 2017 but is no longer doing so.

Makes sense. Is that because he’s missed time under contract that he can’t get back?

What the hell, sign him to a try out. If he works out, good.

It shouldn’t but probably would...if people would listen to what the guy is saying they would see he isn’t anti military and would also see he’s walked the walk and is actually following through on his words. I didn’t like the pig socks so sure that’s fair game.

Larry Wilmore pointed out that it really isn’t even a protest since they aren’t protesting anything the NFL is doing. It’s a call to attention. At this point, I don’t know why anyone is still kneeling, it doesn’t matter anymore at this time. Too much time focusing on something that just doesn’t matter anymore.

Openly associating with terrorist sympathiser Linda Sarsour, donating money to a cause celebrating a known cop killer, the police pig socks, demonstrating his ignorance on Fidel's Cuba outraging Cuban-Americans, admiring Che Guevara and openly stating he doesn't vote and then associating with one of the world's morally corrupt organisation's doesn't scream to me (heck, I'm not even American and I see through his charade) someone who has a well thought out plan.

My main concern with this fiasco is nothing will change. Media missives are being exchanged, money is being made, political points counted all the while the status quo remains. It's a soap opera of the highest order.

The Castro thing was not smart. The love for that guy I will never understand. Seems very inconsistent on values coming from certain people who mourned him.

I’d rather they brought back Tebow

I'd rather they give Jamarcus Russel a shot. Or Blaine Gabbert. You know the QB that Kaep couldn't beat out to start when he decided to sell this narrative to remain relevant since he didn't have the talent to do so.

At this point in Brady's career, I'd rather have the Pats tank it for a high draft pick if he goes down early in the season. In that scenario, Kap would be a great addition.
