The Josh Gordon Thread: Pats Officially Acquire Gordon for Fifth-Round Pick

Rehashing the Cleveland history seems irrelevant. Summary is adequate.thx. as in..

JG made some mistakes and was screwed by NFL policy.. moving on.
I’m not rehashing I’m accepting facts as they are.

Hope Gordon’s breakout games comes before Ocho’s big breakout game.

The guy who has been suspended for 54 of his last 64 games for erratic behavior got traded because he planned to act erratic so he could lose his job?
Come on.
I said 2018 TC

Strange that the waited this long then suddenly changed their minds
I think they were fully onboard with helping him hoping he'd turn around but when he stayed away from TC because he wanted to leave CLE they had a change of heart.

Are you sure that's the reason? Because your point would be a fair one, if true.

I know. It’s hard for me to believe a guy with that track record would try to get fired.
I think he wanted to be traded or released.

I'm not saying Josh was right trying to shoot his way out of town- especially with an owner/org doing everything possible to help him. You can actually call into question his character for doing it.

I would actually be more ok with him trying to shoot his way out of town, to be honest.

Was it ever confirmed whether or not NE got CLE to change the trade so the 7th coming back was not conditional?

I think Cleveland is trying to reinvent themselves so much maybe they felt they needed the break.
Plus Haley is a prick what I saw him attack Coleman so much thats all I need to see.
I feel they are giving him too much power say over the offensive roster.
Jacksons comments to Coleman almost made me feel like he is ceding power to Haley to call shots on offense.

The NFL is full of players whose transgressions were serious enough to be released by their teams but not so serious that they couldn’t join some other team a week later.
The Browns just released Mychal Kendricks after he was indicted for insider trading (while a member of the Eagles). The fact that he was picked up by the Seahawks should not detract from the serious lesson he is receiving.
Michael Floyd’s DUI got him released from the Cardinals but picked up by the Patriots.

And so on. It doesn’t mean Cleveland was stupid to trade him.
In life you get a second chance. You get a third chance if you can run a 4.3. A 1600 yard season buys you a few more.

It’s fine to think that but there really is nothing supporting it.
