Jordan Matthews back with Eagles

Wonder if we wanted to bring him back after the settlement window? Wonder what if any Gordon could have affected that? Lastly wonder if we might regret losing out on him?

An example of Krafty Bob trying to save a nickel or two here and losing out on a player who could contribute to this poor receiver group?

They have Britt, Coleman and a potential move at the trade deadline
They don’t have either of those guys.
Matthews and/or Britt is the opportunity cost of Gordon. Seems worth it in September but will it in January?

They are shadow roster

We'll find out.

There is no spot for them. They won’t sit around 3 months and will t be any going to us by then if they do.

I'd rather have Britt or Coleman anyway.

I don't see anyone picking those guys up unless they have to

Wonder if the Pat's can get Coleman on their PS if they are no takers. There is no way he's not better than Helmet Face McCarron.
Is Coleman practice squad eligible? With his athleticism it seems unlikely he wouldn't get signed to someone's 53, but if he can get on the PS then why not try? He's got 2 accrued seasons I think - I can't recall whether you become ineligible after 2 seasons, over 2 seasons, or something else...

Edit: Looks like you're eligible with 2 or fewer accrued seasons, and Coleman's right at the 2 season mark. You can only have up to 4 guys with 2 seasons on the PS and the rest have to be 6 games active or less, but AFAIK only Vince Valentine on the PS fits the "over 6 games active" description right now. So as far as I can tell, Coleman's eligible. But I could be wrong.

Edit 2: After more research, looks like Valentine, Stephen Anderson and James Ferentz are all over that 6 game mark, and possibly Kenneth Farrow too, though I'm unsure. If all four of those guys are over 6 games active in their careers then one would have to be let go for Coleman to be signed to the PS.

It may be moot.

McCarron was moved to "Practice Squad IR" today (whatever "Practice Squad IR" means), and the Pats filled the open spot by re-signing Billingsley.

I think it means he can return to the PS in 8 weeks?

Yes, not re-signing Matthews, who was never expensive to begin with, is a sign of cheapness from the owner of a team that gave their RG an extension 2 weeks ago with $23.5 million guaranteed.

Please at least try to make logical sense if you're going to relentlessly rail on "Krafty Bob."
