The Josh Gordon Thread: Pats Officially Acquire Gordon for Fifth-Round Pick

I’m an addict (Which may explain things to some of you). I’ve been in recovery for over 20 years. Any sip of booze, puff of weed, pain pill other than prescribed will likely kill me. Getting clean is hard, but I worked my ass off for it. Getting clean each subsequent time I relapsed was exponentially more difficult.

I have talent in my chosen field of employment. It wasn’t until I was no longer employable that I finally stopped for good. This isn’t everyone’s story. Many people quit before it gets to the level of dereliction. I hope Gordon is that guy, but odds are against him.

I’m hoping he somehow gets it and my team benefits. Moreso, as a fellow sufferer, I hope he loses the obsession to use and finds peace. Our record at year end pales to the insanity of addiction.

I feel like I've been blessed because I've never been in that situation. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that I was introduced to drinking at an early age by my family and never got to the point where I craved a drink. When my friends and I came of drinking age I had already been exposed to it for many years and it was no big deal.

I never cared much for cocaine or any other heavy duty drugs either, though I did try some of them way back when. Unfortunately, I lost some friends to drug abuse so I probably got the message from their deaths.

Good luck to you in the future and hang in there.

The real question is will Brady give his number to Gordon?

Mixing codeine with soda is very popular in some areas, especially his hometown of Houston. While multiple time per day, everyday prolonged use can cause some withdrawal symptoms (for codeine, which is minor compared to “real” opiates), I don’t know if I’d refer to him as having an actual opiate issue. It sounds more of a bad habit/cultural type of thing.

He did admit to the Xanax use since middle school, though, and we already know about the weed and alcohol stuff.
Yep, google 'lean' or ( nsfw ) Urban Dictionary: Lean ...

Weed is often a gateway drug. I would be surprised if he hasn't graduated to harder stuff by now. 90% of the league smokes weed. They don't have the issues he does. Something is wrong.

Weed is NOT a gateway drug. Lets take your own example as evidence. You state that 90% of the league smokes. If that is true and your statement is true then we should expect that 90% of the league will move up to harder drugs. Seeing as how we have years of evidence to disprove that you would be completely wrong.

The big question is will he end up being Ocho Cinco or Randy Moss?

Somebody on my timeline made a comment about not letting Gordon move in with Harmon, given their respective marijuana incidents. I cannot confirm if that was Lazar or somebody else, but it would make sense given Harmon’s response.

Peter King is such a douche. He wouldn’t have said a peep if it was another team. He should know damn well this team needed wr help. I hope Gordon proves all his doubters wrong. Again it’s up to him.

I dunno. I think lean is a true, seriously addictive and dangerous opiate. People (most visibly, rappers) die from it or related health complications (you generally drink a ridiculous amount of soda to mix) fairly often. It's absolutely a cultural thing that many can quit like a habit, but many aren't so lucky because the physical addiction is there.

Any statement from Gordon yet??

Harmon has a family I think, that would be kinda weird.

Well one of our former players already saying it won’t work out. Rob Nink. Talking about playbook yada yada. If you have world class talent not even a playbook won’t matter. I am hoping he plays against Detroit but they might hold him down for two games.

So now what jersey # will they assign to Brady ?

I'm curious as to why people give a flying **** what Lazar thinks about anything?

Flash Gordon. That's my dawg.

Working on my custom t shirt as we speak.

So i am watching the Steelers game from last year and i was impressed with one route. You can line him on the inside as well. He gets off the line very well.

Hoyer knows him. I think like sticking Floyd with Brissett, Hoyer may be the prime baby sitter.

The guy has top tier WR talent, with worse substance issues than Floyd. He's worth the gamble, but it's no assurances.

I saw a report out of Cleveland he wants this, wants to stay clean, and then cash in with a big pay day after. If that's true he should pay off.

IF Gordon is a 1/4 of what he was in 2013 we have a player. He's very Route savy Drags - crossing routes and Slants. Gordon is already a Beast on the outsides. I hope he makes the Best of his opportunity here Brady deserves him.
