Only fanbase where 3 SB trips in 4 years with 2 titles qualify as bad times.

These are the games that BB loves because he gets to rip into players like Gronk and Burkhead about ball security and players like Harmon for being out of position. And he gets to praise the guys who are finally doing things right, ala Dorsett.

I hope going forward they don't put Rowe on the Goaline Slot receiver going forward. It's clear he hasn't learned the lesson about the pick that Butler won the SB for us with. He was beat last year in the SB by the exact same play. He's not shown he's a good fit schematically there.

Just want to add to your words that I really liked how the secondary picked up stacks/bunches in this game. This looked so much smoother than anything last year.

The only thing I saw as a significant negative was the ST coverage was awful. They need to do much better.

Specifically the Kick coverage. The punt coverage allowed 2 returns for 20 yards on 6 punts. The other 4 were downed, with 1 inside the 20 and the other inside the 1..

The only one they didn't get was the one where Rowe was picked and led to the Ellington TD.. Otherwise, I agree..

Yeah but honestly I don't expect perfection.

If they can double their success rate against stacks and bunches it already increases the margin for error so much. Same thing with LBs in space. I don't expect them to suddenly shut that down but if they can go from (whatever) 20% success rate to 40-50% it would be huge.

Mismatches like with Rowe will happen in every game on some snaps. Thats the NFL.

Except McCarron has shown nothing at all in the preseason and the one thing that gave him a roster spot was his punt returning. I am not calling for his head but then again I would not be surprised if he is on the practice squad rather sooner than later.

The whole preseason I was nagging about his faircatching for no reason. Even @mains couldn't hold me back..;). The problem is if you are only faircatching in preseason game - how can you build any confidence for regular season?

But i put this one on coaches and BB. So little was invested in punt returning for second season in a row . uncharacteristically clinging on guys who just couldn't make it and finally unloading it on precious vets.

And if they were happy with his faircatching and lackluster route running - why waste a roster spot on him? You have Chung and Slater who'll do at least as good..

Most of my concerns were relieved at least through the first game:

Dorsett was a reliable target, appears to be a solid 4th option once Edelman gets back.

Secondary played well in Butler's absense. J Jones looked good again. Gilmore is huge, worth every penny we paid him thus far.

Feel pretty comfortable about Trent brown taking over in solder’s departure.

KR coverage sucked, but I'm guessing they will iron things out. If not just have ghost boot it out the ez. Mccaron blows and is hopefully done in ne.

I’m satisfied, would’ve been a double digit win without an unfortunate deflection leading to a pick and/or incompetent a** mccarron.

Tempering my expectations for the d as Watson looked rusty , but the pass rush looked legit and that had nothing to do with the other qb being rusty.

My only concern with Gilmore were the two penalties that he didn't have to take.. He seriously didn't need to grab either time. He had help over the top.

As for McCarron. Definitely disappointed in the muff.. Rewatched it and for some reason he closes his eyes just before the ball hits him in the helmet. Can't catch the ball if you can't see it..

The Pats need someone who can return punts. Unforunately, Amendola isn't walking through that door anytime soon.. And I'd rather not have Edelman doing it.

Now, let's revisit the Boston Red Sox Globe predictions:

I can’t stand them either, but since I assume those picks were against the spread, it’s not like they were off by much.

Players with ACL tears can immediately walk

Some can. Some can't. It depends on the severity of the ACL tear, whether other ligaments are damaged, whether the meniscus is damaged and what happens to the parts of the ACL after the tear..

For me, I couldn't put any weight on my leg because I'd also partially torn the meniscus and part of my ligament was caught between my kneecap and fibula..

I mean that doesn't necessarily sound positive to me.

I'm nitpicking, but Brady seem to have played to minimize getting hit, I think a lot of him being mostly clean the whole game was scheme, quick/decisive action and GOAT power. But kudos to the OL as well.

Someone was saying that Trent Brown was better than Solder already. I disagree. Clowney beat Brown on a few occasions and forced Brady into bad throws..

Also, it's clear that Waddle might be adequate against most run of the mill DEs, but he's totally outclassed by JJ Watt. Watt beat him twice with the same move in the 2nd half. It's what helped to fire the Texans up.

The fact that Hill walked around when he left the tent has me 50/50.

McCarron is a dead man walking. Wright makes sense
Best case for Hill is 4-6 weeks but sounds unlikely. Walking possible with ACL. Wonder when Michel returns.

Not if Rowe isn't on the field :p:p:p
Seriously. I didn't want Rowe back after the SB.. But, he's here so I'll root for him to play better.
