Contrary to some genius posters thinking . bottom of the roster management (incl PS) does matter. Pats wanted to bring back all below mentioned (reportedly).. They win some lose some like everybody else.. (Bills were not happy with losing Lee, Pats are not too happy they lost Bojorquez etc..)

from Reiss:
How fantasy football played a notable part of Tom Brady's opening week

One of the Patriots’ more challenging roster cuts from 2016 was front and center in Thursday’s NFL opener, as linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill has emerged as a captain and starter for the Eagles. Grugier-Hill was a sixth-round pick of the Patriots three seasons ago out of Eastern Illinois, and as a tweener-type safety/linebacker, he didn’t have a traditional fit on defense but was projected to be a special-teams demon. He ended up being the 54th player that preseason, narrowly beaten out by fellow sixth-round pick Elandon Roberts at linebacker. The Eagles, whose 4-3 defense probably fits Grugier-Hill better, made a shrewd waiver claim.

One story that has piqued the interest of a few special-teams coaches around the NFL was how the Bills claimed rookie punter Corey Bojorquez on waivers from the Patriots, despite Bojorquez never punting in a preseason game (or in warmups of others, when scouts are often watching). One theory was that the Patriots were hiding Bojorquez in hopes he would clear waivers and return to their practice squad. In an interview with The Athletic, Bojorquez seemed to support that theory when he said to reporter Tim Graham: “The Patriots told me they had a plan they were executing, and I said, ‘All right, I’m not going to be worried about it,’ and just focused on my punting and tried to be the best I could every day so that when my name was called, I’d be ready.”

I was wondering if they'd bring Farrow back in.

Great guy and I wish him the best but he's never been even remotely an impact player.
He was never expected to be an impact player. He was a UDFA who might have a chance on special teams and a long shot to ever see many meaningful snaps of defense.

Lets hope Langi can teleport there so he doesn't get hurt some how.

I don't know why they bothered. I'd rather have Billingsley.

Farrow is a heftier RB ... 220+ ... who's actually touched the football in a real live NFL game. He should at least be good on the scout team, playing the role of the heftier RBs that the Pats defense will face. Billingsley may or may not have some potential as a WR, but he's been in the league two seasons already and never appeared on a stat sheet.

Interesting. Apparently, since Darboh failed his physical with the Pats, their claim for him was cancelled, in effect. So, Darboh more or less automatically reverts to Seattle's IR as if he was never claimed.

Does this mean NE gets an IR-r exemption for Izzo since his early placement was only to make room for Darboh?

He was a rookie last year who got into an accident in the first half of the year. When did he have time to become an impact player?

Interesting. I think SEA still has the option of working out an injury settlement with the kid and then eventually sending him on his way.

My interpretation is they were trying to weasel out out paying him that hence they just cut him.

I wonder if the NFLPA got involved?

Probably. You can't terminate the contract of a player who was injured in the performance of a contract and can't perform the duties associated with the contract unless you reach a settlement with them (and the settlement is a mutual thing, the team can't just impose an injury settlement).

In other words, the Patriots had to assume he was capable of performing the job since the Seahawks cut him, but turns out he wasn't, so the Seahawks couldn't legally cut him.

That makes a lot more sense now.

I wondered how Seattle could cut him with injury designation if he couldn't pass a physical. It sucks because Pats used a roster spot on Darboh based on the assumption he was healthy. If Darboh had been properly designated as waived/ injured, they would likely not have claimed him, giving them a chance to ir-r Izzo and then resign either Bolden or Tobin.

Seahawks are a sketchy organization.
