This over/under is way too optimistic

It's just a mark to describe a very good season for a WR. There's no way a WR gets 1000 yards and has a bad season at the same time.

The Pats need to replace the vertical element of Cooks's game and the toughness and contested short area catch element of Amendola's game (rewatch SB51 if you need examples)

Dorsett does neither. Best case, he's a homeless man's version of 2004 Branch - working intermediate routes and quick hitters on the sideline. He's not tough/strong and lacks the skills to get deep against #1/2 CBs

It’s not only that but the guy sucks running routes. I was surprised that a scouting report on him said he was a superb route runner. If that was the case he would be getting open frequently.

If he gets over 500 that will be more than I anticipated. I'm guessing 300-400.

35 catches 501 yards 2 TDs

As the 3/4 WR here I'm totally fine with that.

I think he has the potential to have a Brandon Lloyd type season at best. I'd love more, but it's not realistic to expect 1k. 600 is a better O/U.

If Edelman and Gronk are healthy most or all of the season? Under.

Jury is still out but if he can at least equal M.Mitchell's reg. season and playoff year, i'll take it. Can't put a number on it but more he gets time with TB & offense in a reg role i think his ceiling can be high.

Edelman and gronk are great along with hogan but someone else will have to step up if they face a team that can cover.

Patterson will be totally useless or break out for a surprisingly big year. I don't see much middle ground with him. If his sloppy fundamentals and concentration issues get him in the dog house, it's easy to see him being a game day inactive or just used on kick returns. Hopefully, McDaniels can find a way to use Patterson's raw tools. Not sure how, given his limited route running. Maybe strictly vertical routes and screens/end arounds
Aside from one season he has averaged 40 catches per season, including a season with 52 and a season with 45.
Chris hogan had 10,41,36 before coming here.
Dorsett has averaged 21 a year with a high of 33.
I have to believe that with Tom Brady throwing him the ball and the opportunity to play he should do better than the 45 and 52 he caught from the likes of Christian ponder, Matt Cassell and Sam Bradford.
Given that our offense value run after the catch and schemes players open in short areas, as well as the attention on gronk Edelman and white, Patterson could get lots of looks
The wild card is if Dorsett has turned into a different player over the off season but that aside, I don’t see how brady would have less success with Patterson than he did with Brandon lafell who went 74-953. Lafell averaged 42 catches a year before arriving here and had never got 50.

Sloppy fundamental and concentration at this point is an urban legend.
I’m perfectly willing to accept proof of that, but it just seems like people who don’t even watch a player play see first round draft pick, size and speed and not so great production and decide it must be “route running”.
I haven’t seen that from him in the times I have seen him play.
I think his production which is mediocre but not awful is more a result of QBs, systems, and lack of opportunity.
We shall see. Starting tomorrow!!!!!

Dorsett will be under, but it will not be a reflection on him as he’ll have the best year of any Patriot receiver. Rather, the 2018 offense will run the ball as often and effectively as it has in any season since 04.

In this offense, only Gronk will get 1000 yards if he stays healthy. Edelman, Patterson, Hogan and Dorsett will each get 500-600 yards. Too many weapons.

Dorsett- 500+

Patterson- a wildcard big play weapon. KR + WR = 500+
