Khalil Mack traded to Chicago

The Bears paid too much in draft picks, and then paid way too much in money.

Mack is a very good player, but it is pretty hard to argue with this.

That's not even remotely close to accurate
They lost a top 10 defender, top 20-25 overall player for draft picks and just draft Kolten Miller in the first.

They only traded him in the first place bc the mismanaged their team badly.

HOF Players like Mack don't get traded often if ever.

Please tell me how Oakland came out in top?

Mack is ELITE, but it appears the bears are investing all their cap, and draft picks on the defensive side of the ball...not so sure that's a prudent method in todays NFL.

Chicago fleeced them.

It's pretty freakin' obvious that such is not the case.

2019 1st
2019 6th
2020 1st
- 2020 2nd
2020 3rd
- 2020 5th (conditional)
Didn't have to make ridiculous overpayment that the Bears made

And the Bears are behind the Lions, Vikings and Packers in the division, so those picks should be good picks.

Raiders aren't the sharpest knife in the draw & just drafted a developmental tackle #15 overall.

Very few players make the instant impact Mack does so they'll be most likely waiting 3-4 years to see serious returns.

Getting rid of HOF players is never a good idea. And they only traded him bc the managed their team so poorly.

The comments in response to the Raiders announcement about this are feckin' GLORIOUS. Get on Twitter and taste the salty bitter tears of Raidernation.

Also, the Raiders announcement about this is as classy as you would have expected. No mention of Mack in the tweet, just that they have traded for two first round picks.

I don't believe football players should be worth that much considering they are playing a sport that durability for the most part has nothing to do with how you train or play. A clumsy falling player can easily injure such high profile players for a long time and what then are your returns as a team for making such a move? You can throw money at the players and I have no issues but when you have multiple first rounders involved in such transaction, then I start to question your sanity.

They know they got fleeced. That team hasn't exactly been killin it lately.

I think the bears got better defensively. They already had some playmakers on defense. I think the division as a whole is good. Packers have Rodgers but nothing is guaranteed. Again it’s a matter of trubisky playing well in his second year.

No surprise. Gruden is running the show there … which is terrible news for Raider fans.

Only 10 more years to go??

There's no guarantee Mack continues to play that well. Maybe he falls in love with Chicago deep dish pizza or Portillo's. You can't just automatically assume he picks up where he left off.

Jimmy Graham was traded for a 1st and never lived up to it. Ditto Percy Harvin (Seattle, WTF?). Revis to the Bucs is another I can think of, and they used him in a different scheme and he wasn't worth it.

And even if Mack does continue to be a great player, he's not creating any value. He's worth exactly what he's paid. This feels like buying a stock at it's record high. Sure, it's worth a lot, but there's a lot of potential downside without much upside.

While I agree with your overall feeling about the Raiders, it's important to remember that they don't have to draft a player as good as Mack to make this worthwhile. They just need to get quality players they can pay significantly below market-value for a while. They could potentially save themselves $100M which could be put towards other roster improvements as well.

Graham & Harvin weren't half as good as Mack on their best day.

Revis wasn't the same guy before the trade if we're being honest.

There's literally no reason to think Mack won't tear it up on a better defense with a coach who will have no problem playing to his strengths.

Your bolded makes no sense tbh. He's been an elite player since day 1. Will continue to be while filling that stadium & giving their fan base all the more reason to be excited.

He'll be in the HOF one day.

"Will continue to be while filling that stadium & giving their fan base all the more reason to be excited."

or he could pull a Mo Wilkerson, sit back and enjoy that 90 mil guaranteed. I want to SEE his performance as a Bear this season before I make a judgment on this trade.I can't stand Chuckie but...there has to be some reason behind this trade this late in preseason.

Comparing Mo to a future HOF player?

Makes sense.

The reason is & has been clear. The Raiders ****ed themselves & mismanaged their team.

Future HOF player that has been elite since day 1 > draft picks.

Raiders just traded a 3rd for Bryant ... Cut him an hour later.

A.J. loses to Peterman & Josh Allen ... Runs to the phone, we gotta have that guy.

Kolten Miller is a developmental OT ... Let's make him a top 15 pick.

Yea I'm not that fired up about Gruden running the show if I'm a Raiders fan.

That team isn't going anywhere for at least 3 years while they try to rebuild ... Again.

Uh..the question I am raising is how Mack will play after making all that bank. I did NOT compare Mack's skills with Wilkerson's. I am just saying I want to wait and see how Mack performs after getting paid. Wilkerson was a consensus All Pro with the Jets until HE got paid. It's a viable concern IMO and did not warrant more of YOUR persistent snark.

Jeez I'm sorry Joker. Wish we could be friends tbh, it's not that serious.

In all seriousness though Wilk was always a hot/cold player that disappeared for long stretches & even games at times. Just different players.

I never been a gruden fan. I think he’s vastly overrated. We will see how this year goes but they just lost a big piece on their defense. They also lost a wideout who was gonna be a big part in their plans on offense.
