Haven’t heard much on rivers. Anyone know if he gained pounds during all this time off. He was very light coming out of college at 248.
He played well on Thurs. Hes been seeing significant action in TC.

a limited number of pass rush moves

I agree he's got a lot of work to do, but I'm not sure I'm on board with this part. He shows pretty advanced understanding of hand placement, does a good job controlling the blocker's wrist, flashes disengage techniques, and shows different types of rushes (swat/rip, bull/snatch, swim, club/inside move, long arm, speed arc, etc). We're probably pretty close in our player evaluation, but I believe he's closer to breaking out than most think.

What’s up with Eric Decker dropping passes?

When it comes to most of the minutiae of pass rush I refer to you, @BaconGrundleCandy or the other nice folks from the draft board. It was just my impression based on the tv angle of the preseason game.

If he can put it all together sooner than I assumed all the better.

Etling!
I really want this to be a Manning Brady thing again Darnold is the media darling but the late pick hard worker Etling just wins games.
Later on is always said to be the better QB.
Amazing

I mean, I guess it doesn't hurt for fans to think that way...

Darnold is the media darling because he plays for an NYC team, and was the #3 overall pick. Frankly, Bridgewater looks like the best QB on the Jete right now, and it's not even close. Darnold looked like Butt Fumble v. 2.0.

Not saying that Darnold can't get better. However, this being the Jete, I wouldn't be shocked if ownership has already decided that Darnold is their week-1 starter and that they should trade Bridgewater.

They will start darnold most likely and see if they can get a draft pick for bridgewater. I think starting darnold is not a bad thing.

Looked like he gained a bit of mass but kept his explosiveness. He remains raw with some unnecessary/wasted steps and a limited number of pass rush moves. Just needs to keep working on his technique throughout season and might be in a good place towards the end.

Honestly not worried about false steps. That was just that one rush from the other night. Never a problem in college.

He's def bigger & looked vg from an ACL a year out. So excited. He should be our best pass rusher very soon.

Again I'm really happy w this group. Lots of versatility in the group.

Rivers has a legit arsenal he can use. Imo his biggest area to improve in terms of pass rushing is developing a go-to counter when his plan A doesn't work.

Happy to see him attack inside the other night & hoping we see more "power" from him to rent some space in opposing players heads. He's so good rushing 1/2 man & attacking the arc. Some power moves would be ideal to keep OT guessing.
