OT - World Cup 2018 Thread

Great WC. Exceptional goals, great games, and the most deserving have moved on. I’m guessing Croatia vs France final, with France taking the Cup. And given how they have played they would deserve it

NATO wins World Cup!

I'm in the really bizarre position of having no preference out of the last four. There's usually one or two players I despise enough to cheer against their team. I'm guessing it'll be a France-England final.

France are loaded but sort of soft. The English squad is more feisty, and I think England could outslug them in a game that's already bogged down by the tension of a world cup final.

He won't get it, but Luka Modric should get serious Ballon d'Or consideration after bringing Croatia to the semis and being at the heart of Real's three-peat.

Has England ever won the Pennant?

I have a funny feeling that they will.

I'm only like 50% with my guesses.
That being said I believe the 2 best teams are playing each other in the semi's ... France and Belgium.
Cup is usually all about whichever team has 3-4 players who are functioning at world class level.

But what do I know ... and i really have not cared who wins since the beginning ... I just like to watch.

Yall heard the last one?

Russia's head medical staff admitted to have given amnonia to all his players, since it leaves them excited and energized.

Lol

The Spanish reign had some question marks about doping, but nobody really cares about that in sports where it's more team-oriented. The Italians in 2006 had a bunch of Juve players who were in a doping scandal a few years before that world cup. It's just doing business as business is being done.

Waking players up with ammonia is pretty tame by comparison.

Source?

Source?

Yup, I'd love to know where that came from as well.

By the way, just in case anyone’s interested, my associate is selling a few Foose Wheels. If anyone’s interested, feel free to PM me.

Who cares about ammonia -- did you all see that gorgeous free kick? Incredible placement!

You could see the players using it live as they were waiting to come on as replacements. Yawn. Of all the things the Russians have put in their bodies the last few decades, sniffing some ammonia to get them "excited" is the least to be concerned about.

Russian team doctor admits players sniffed ammonia
I was looking for a source about the Italian players, and the Spain players. Sorry should’ve clarified

anyone have a decent online steam? I'm stuck at work, and foxsports is not accepting my directtv info

I am watching Telemundo on Xfinity stream

logical way to avoid the extra time crap..just stop the clock on injury. It's ridiculous that no one knows how much time is actually left.

Somehow, a human sport where use of arms and hands is disallowed just does not compute. o_O

England is looking like they're the ones who played extra time in their last match, not Croatia. Sloppy defense there.

Limitations and rules are what differentiate sports. The goalie can use his hands. It's not really any different from a quarterback being restricted to making forward passes only to eligible players (there's a joke here about the Ravens not understanding the rules, but I'm too invested in the last minute of this game to be inventive).
