Just a tremendous game. Great Brazil goal -- and they should have had a penalty, I think. The last 10-15 minutes will be extraordinary.

Brazil has blown some chances to tie this up.

Brazil needs to work on their passing game. They're all so individually talented, but they can't just outplay their opponent each time. There's a beauty but also a selfishness about their playstyle. Glad Belgium pulled this off. Their teamwork reminded me of the Patriots -- not very flashy, but fundamentally sound and focused on playing as a true unit instead of a collection of talent.

What a great game! Football can be fantastic when two teams play it honestly. Congratulations to Belgium, sympathies to Brazil.

Brazil didn't have much luck. The Belgian goalie made four or five amazing saves, and I still don't get why Brazil didn't get a penalty.

France-Belgium will be quite a game -- and the winners must be favourites to win the final. I've got a sneaking feeling for France.

Courtois was immense for them in net. MOM by far. Kompany was huge, and De Bruyne, Hazzard, and Lukaku gave brazil backline a **** load of problems.

I warned early on in the tournament that teams playing outside their hemisphere/continent tend not to do well at world cups. This is no different.

I think it will be a heck of a game. The two most attractive European sides with world class forward lines.

Just no England. Want belgium or Croatia to win the World Cup. A first time team. I do think France will beat belgium though

I think England can get passed Sweden (not that they definitely will; our record against them is horrible) but Croatia are a very good side and I think they will be in the final.

Just to point out Sweden beat France in qualifying and beat Italy in the qualifying Playoff after qualifying ahead of Holland. I think people have severely under-estimated their quality and experience.

I haven't watched that many games all the way through till now (travelling) but I did see the whole of Sweden-Switzerland and, frankly, it looked like a third division game -- the players just couldn't pass or control the ball with the precision you expect of an international team.

Perhaps they'll beat England, but I'd be shocked if the winner of Russia-Croatia doesn't thrash them.
