Third rule of Fight Club: Someone yells stop, goes limp, taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule: only two guys to a fight. Fifth rule: one fight at a time, fellas. Sixth rule: no shirts, no shoes. Seventh rule: Fights will go on as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight.

Well, it only took 4 months and 20 days, but we finally have our answer as to why Butler was benched courtesy of Mike Reiss’ Sunday morning notes column.

Citing Mike Lombardi’s soon to be released book “My View from Bill Belichick’s Colon”. The Titans new CB is not the the sharpest stick requiring extra coaching and special treatment.

Reiss said Lombardi’s literary masterpiece starts at the first coaches’ meeting for the 2014 season. Coach Belichick tells the coaches that they have to improve their goal line defense to win a championship. Of course it was His great coaching that made Pete Carroll out think himself and not just hand the ball to Marshawn Lynch. And only great coaching got the dumb as a bag of rocks rookie corner in position to make the championship winning interception. All Butler had to do was out-wrestle a bigger receiver for the ball and manage to hang on to it. Yep, that play was all about coaching.

Two other nuggets from Lombardi’s time. To show His humility to his staff, his Holy One now admits he errors from time to time citing a mistake drafting the late Ron Brace in 2009. Until reading that, I thought that was a good pick. Also after doing an in depth study in how to relate to millennials in the workplace, the Patriots put nap rooms in their locker room. I’m sure no player or staff was had ever been held up to ridicule for catching some zzzs there.

Please accept my mea culpa for ever doubting the Holy Hoodie. He is perfect in all ways. His every act is in “the best interest of the team”. I’m now going to follow all leaders blindly and believe giving unfettered control and power to one is the best way to advance and protect the best interests of all.
