Eric Decker Interested in Joining Pats....

One-year, close to the league minimum and could be cut with no significant cap hit. If we can't get him for that, then no thanks

SIGN THE BEAST!!! this guy has a decent amount of time left and could be huge here with TFB throwing the ball!!! Worth kicking the tires!

Interesting that he was in talks with joining the Pats last year but chose to go to the Titans. He's familiar with McDaniels offense so it would be an easy transition. I've always liked Decker as a player but his TV show and wife have kind of put some people off.

What do you think? Sign the beast?

I don't wanna root for him so it's a no from me

If he signs I can already see it now...

I don't the problem with someone to compete with Britt and Dorsett. They all would have one year contracts of they made the team.

Looks like someone you'd see on Cops.

Depending on the generation most of us either brought at least one home from the Crazy Cafe or rec'd a delivery from crazyb!tch.com. Hell, I've got a fairly bodacious 45+ year old scar on my thigh courtesy of one of them. Crazy hot chick happens and single guys do have their occasional momentary lapses of judgement but it takes a special kind of masochist to marry it.

If I have to choose between him or Britt I'm taking Britt. Decker was finished when he (got hurt? Just got cut?) was no longer on the Jets.

Cause what the Pats really need is to tie up yet another roster slot at the WR position
Yeah, I’d much rather see a guy like McCarron or Berrios due to their ability to return punts, although we should be able to keep one or both on the PS just as well. While they wouldn’t necessarily tie up a roster spot, the downside is that they wouldn’t be returning punts, either (thanks, Captain Obvious).

That leaves Edelman, who is suspended for 1/4 of the season, and Matthews, who is attempting to learn the system and hasn’t shown much yet to instill a great deal of confidence in the fan base. I suppose that you can lump Dorsett in there too, although I just don’t view him as a guy who is going to be able to get lit up and handle the hits too well. His frame and skill set suggest better use on the outside, or at least not running the same short passing game routes that we’ve seen from Welker, Amendola, and Edelman, where a tough, gritty, physical presence is needed.

If Belichick brings Decker here for small money and throws him into the mix, I won’t complain. The suspension, injury status of Mitchell, and uncertainty of guys like Dorsett/Britt/etc have made me view the need a tad differently the past week or so.
