There's got to be something that happened within this organization where this dysfunction came from. Wouldn't shock me if BB entertained trading Brady but Kraft put a stop to it. I actually would've traded Brady rather than Jimmy G only based on potential long term success. I think when Brady retires, dark days are ahead for us Pats fans. The chances of the Pats finding a QB that could pick up right where Brady left off will be almost impossible. And they already had him waiting.

I call B.S. on this whole Gronk story, and here’s why.

Gronk tells Belichick he’s coming back to the Pats BEFORE the draft. IF Belichick wanted to trade Gronk, that’s when he was at his HIGHEST worth. That’s when the sharks would have been circling. That’s when you could’ve gotten a package even better than Cooks’ package, maybe a 1st and 2nd.

Then you use those assets in the 1st or 2nd to replace Gronk. Trading him NOW makes ZERO sense. Outside of telling Belichick to go **** himself, what could prompt Belichick to trade him, when he’s already come back and shown he’s ready to dominate having a great mini camp (apparently). Makes ZERO sense at all. What can you get now, that is better than what you probably could’ve gotten at the draft when the iron is hot ?

What was the tipping point that plants the seen in Belichick’s head to trade him NOW, when you couldn’t instantly get his replacement at the draft ? Trade him now for future picks, when you have NO replacement lined up, and a 41 year old starting QB. That’s basically saying Belichick is willfully trying to weaken his team. It’s not what he does.

The thought that there are three separate "inside sources" who would know all this. The rumor is BS, the sources don't exist, AND I doubt that Tom would act that way. He's been pretty clear about getting the business side of the game, saying that nothing would surprise him, and saying that he doesn't get involved in such things.

I don't really believe these rumors, but whatever happens, Brady has a lifetime pass from me regardless of how this all ends.
