With Amendola gone, there was already an opening at slot receiver. Now that Edelman's gone, somebody needs to step up. I don't think Berrios will be quite able to take the slot role from Jordan Matthews, but I think after a year or two in the pros he'll develop into something special.

Before the Edelman news I thought people's talk of Berrios having >50% chances of making the 53 was premature but now I think he's going to get a good shot at it.

He has a better starting point than Carr last year but given the competition still has an uphill battle in camp. I would consider it a big success if the team can at least somehow get him onto the PS to essentially redshirt him a year.

He'll make the team for his value as a PR alone. The snaps that will come on offense in Edelman's absence will depend on how the competition goes between he and McCarron.

This could be Edelmans last season in foxboro.
Berrios and Mccarron could be the new Edelman Admendolas.
He’s signed through 2019 so I’d be shocked if they cut Jules. What happens after 2019 though is anyone’s guess. I definitely think Berrios could be the next guy though

Another TJ Moe

Shockman Gaiter?
Boom boom Kenbrell Coleman?
Or who was the receiver tebow threw a td to for us in preseason?
Guy was tall ran fast had. Ridiculous ups and never made it to a 53?

I'd guess this will be the case, most likely.

It's hard to imagine the combination of JE11's fire and BB's prescience for him to make the squad when he was drafted, with a WR corp that had Moss and Welker. On paper, the 7th round QB conversion should've never had a shot. Berrios should buy a copy of "Relentless" to figure out Edelman's voodoo.

Hopefully we didnt all find out with this test.

Or a copy of Jules the squirrel or whatever the name was.

Lots of hype for this 7th round pick. I will continue with my heavy dose of skepticism.

Haven't heard any comment on his training so far. Can't get hyped if I can't see a reason to get hyped (Other than him bein a short, white, wr and taken on the 7th round)

I suspect that Belichick may find a punt returner among the late cuts. Yes, Berrios could make it, but it is NOT at all clear that he is a better choice for 2018 than a punt returner from another team or even than Mccarran.

Obviously on the field performance will rule, but there is a lot to like about Berrios in terms of intangibles. Captain at Miami, valedictorian at Miami so we know he is smart, and he was an outstanding PR for the Hurricanes.

Leave Braxton Sudfeld alone!
If I had to guess, I’d bet he’ll end up being a productive player in this offense. God knows I’ve been wrong about that many times before though. But his skill set fits like a glove here. He has to put it together and should be afforded every opportunity to do that.
