How Focused is Gronk?

Out of interest, if the Patriots decided to redo Gronk’s contract, how many other players on the team would then have a valid complaint about also being significantly underpaid? How many of those players would people then Ali’s want to see get paid? Or is Gronk the exception and everyone else on the team needs to continue to put up and shut up?

I’m just looking at the WR corp and how many of them are due to have contracts expire at the end of the next season and WR2 money now looks to be aporoaching, if not exceeding, Edelman’s contract. Guess I’m intrigued to see how those contracts are handled going forward, given Gronk and Edelman’s current contract values.

I just signed a deal that I was happy about otherwise I would not have taken the deal and asked to be traded.

Because somebody other TEs on losing franchises are making more than me, I dont like my deal anymore. All this Gronk mistretement is a load of ****.

What is wrong with this deal? Tight End Contracts and Salaries | Over The Cap

Nothing other than Gronk isnt not Numero Uno. F him. He can GTFO.

So, all the NFL teams should be forced to keep players to the length of their contract?

Lots of opinions ...
Perhaps the speculation has taken the easy path.
Could it be he has been pissed off since the Gilmore contract?

Other stuff then easily helped the boil over?

Gronk has threatened retirement because he wants more money. Everyone understands what this is all about.

Why did Gronk sign a deal that he was very happy about that paid him through 2019, if he was stepping away from the game? A Browns 2nd round pick would be awesome. Spend it on a QB which is a critical need for this team.

We think of Gronk as a dumb jock. He's not . At UAZ his Academic major was pre-business. He even made UA Student-Athlete of the Month honors. He knows what he is doing.

He's smart enough to know if he keeps up with this nonsense, other than taking drugs and running into a Police Station unclothed, he can shoot his way out. Rosenhaus just steps back and watches knowing if he gets out of N.E. the contract will be extended and Drew makes more $. So Rosenhaus lets Gronk fall on his own sword and not take the rap for being a money grabbing anal pore.

O.K. BB.....Gronk is now Officially a distraction. He can play games and have a good time with this, but his Team mates are watching to see how far BB can be pushed.

GOAT T.E or not, he's gone if he drags the rest of the Team down.

The 31 Teams know this is a ploy. They will try to leverage his retirement to send a unacceptable package. BB gets a hair across he will dump Gronk for spite. That scares me.

Partners that makes sense?:

#1 The Broncos. Although I would not want him there, or the AFC. the Broncos for #5 and Paxton Lynch (yes still pounding the table for him as he has experience and is more qualified than some in this Draft. Elway used him wrong. He is competition for whomever we add.). For Gronk and our #31. If you subtract the difference at 1,100 points that is a player and a mid first for Gronk value. Plus we gain CAP room.

#2 The Niners. They schtupped us in the Jimmy G. trade. Why break precedent? TE George Kittle and #9 for Gronk and our #31

#3 The Lions. Matty P understands the Drama. Knows Gronk. Makes Stafford better. For Lions first pick #20 and swap of picks being our #95 for the Lions #82, for Gronk.

Finally The Browns. Gronk for TE David Njoku and picks #33 and #35 is more than fair trade.
He goes to BB's Siberia.. They also have plenty of CAP room and $.

Pre-business?

I,for one, am glad he's restricted instead of being a free agent every 3 years or so. I'd hate to see what contract we'd have to match. Some team would take a flyer on perhaps the greatest non QB offensive force in the game, and I mean big money.

NFC team, if BillB goes on the trade path. Remember, most of the time, will sell High and buy Low. Gronk's last year was very good numbers, deserving of #1-pick or #2 & #3 picks..

So, we start Dwayne Allen at tight end?

Here is another possible NFC Team we do business with.

The Saints give:
Andrus Peat OLT/OLG (Would be our starter. Needs a little work with Dante. Too much switching back and forth in N.O. Probably better than any rookie starter. Still young)

Hau'oli Kikaha Edge/OLB (8 sacks in limited snap times in two years. Saints will move him)

First Round pick #27

2019 third round pick

Pats give Saints opportunity to extend Gronk pre-trade.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Pats give:
Gronk

Third Round Pick #95

Gronk in New Orleans.....What could possible go wrong? Fun is ultimate!

This trade almost guarantees the Saints win NFC South. Brees and Gronk?

Fair trade for all

So, all the NFL teams should be forced to keep players to the length of their contract?
No but they are required to pay them the guaranteed portion because that is what was agreed upon.

If Gronk gets a new contract it gives the green light to all Greatest of All Time players on the roster to raise a stink about their pay.

That list includes exactly one other player.
I agree. No exceptions even for all star players. If BB shows weakness towards Gronk then he should expect more stink in the locker room. Why Bill is one of the best in the business? Because he is known for his steadfastness and his rules ( better or worse it is a matter of discussion ).Rules are set up by coaches not players.
