Adam Schefter: Brady not yet committed to playing in 2018

I cannot believe people HONESTLY thought Brady would play until he's 45. Absolutely ridiculous.

Really? I can. I believe Testaverde did but he wasn't starting every game.

With today's amazing healthcare and the quarterback barely being touched these days it wouldn't surprise me at all.

It's 2018. Not even 1980

He's playing at the highest level of his career in the best shape of his life in the safest version of the NFL ever. How is it ridiculous to think he could play another 4 years?

Thinking he could is a lot different than thinking he will. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

This past SB left a sour taste in a lot of players mouths. A long and punishing season for that ****

In most cases 1st round QBs don't get to be 1st round QBs because of their NFL-readiness. That is one factor, but it is usually minor.

1st round QBs get to be 1st round QBs mainly because of their perceived superior skills. In fact, Josh Allen is viewed as a top 5 pick merely because of a cannon arm. He has severe accuracy issues that "maybe" can be fixed as he develops. That's what geniuses said about Jamarcus Russell, too.

I will be OK with a first round QB, just not OK will packaging 3 or 4 picks to move up for a QB. If that's the price, take a chance on a longer-shot guy like Mike White or the Princeton guy.

Allen's issue isn't accuracy per se, it's an inability to process well beyond his first read. He's got great placement (arguably best in class) throwing to his first read, but when forced to throw to his second or third read he's substantially more prone to bad decisions and wild throws. This kind of thing is pretty common among college quarterbacks, especially those from smaller schools (it was a knock on Wentz, for instance) and it's quite possible to correct given time and coaching if a quarterback is willing to work at it. That's why Allen's being considered with the 1st pick, because he's got an incredible physical toolbox and he's thought to be coachable, smart, and have a good work ethic - the sort of profile that fits with a player who can overcome the sort of deficiencies he showed in college.

I know wtf is up with that. Why did this franchise have to get stuck with brady and Belichick.

BB is the best coach in football but people on here act like he can do no wrong. As good as he is is he cost this team at least 1 superbowl.

As for Brady: He said last year he was playing until he was 45 years old. So what does BB do? Trades Garoppolo, my guess is per Krafts orders, then a year later Brady is pulling this BS where he is saying he wants to spend more time with his family and is undecided about this year.

Would have been nice to know that last year when the pats had his replacement.

If anyone here knows brady you know its not in his making to abandon the team 3 months before the season.
and this
Tom Brady planning summer passing camp with teammates
It took Brady 5 seconds to let his feelings be known on social media in responding to Malcolm Butler but we've got screaming headlines all over the media all day long about Brady being non-committal about playing next year and he's got nothing to say. Crickets!!
I do believe that self absorbed diva is loving this. Just call him LeBron Brady.
Getting more unlikeable with each passing day.

Great post.

If Brady did quit now it would be really ****ty of him, but the report sounds bogus so whatever.
I would be shocked if retired. However, where there's smoke there's fire. I think he comes back for at least a year but could see this being his last year. The draft could be telling on the future for Brady and the Patriots.
