Gronk Reportedly Still Undecided On Playing Next Year:

Regardless of whether he is going to play or not they have to start looking for his successor. Love Gronk and I think he has some legitimate *****es but they have to look out for the team.

Whomever compared it to Brady is an idiot, there’s no indication that Brady won’t come in, only that he’ll be a day late, and with his dedication that’s not an issue.

Are you serious? You don't see how a player being on the fence for months after the season ended hurts a team's preparations for the next season?

Granted so far he isn't quite in Brett Favre territory - yet.

1. BB himself has said Gronk has had good communication with him this off-season.
2. The draft has not yet happened.
3 . For all we know,BB already knows Gronk's intentions.
Gronk has been a team guy. He's the 2nd most important player on the team.
He's earned the right to being cut some slack.
Besides,he's playing this year. Wait and see.

Stop being an apologist. If the team knows what Gronkowski is doing then there's no problem. But if this - and other - reports are accurate and nobody really knows what he is doing (not even himself) then it hurts the team as they go about all their offseason maneuvers including, but not limited to, draft preparation.

I also believe he is playing this year, but it still doesn't help having the team not know if they need to replace him or not. And by the way, yes the draft hasn't happened yet but what do you think they do? Wait until draft day to start preparing?

You pay or trade the beast simple as that.

The problem is, you're citing "reports" that arent reports. No sources. No quotes from Gronk or BB. Those are not "reports". They're rumors. Nothing more.
I don't buy any of it. Do you really think Gronk is gonna let the Pats go into the draft not knowing if he's playing this year? No freaking way.

It seems the offer they made to Amendola was laughable and disrespectful , I think the era of players playing here at a discount is close to an end.
The offer they made Amendola was fine. Others teams’ spending like drunken sailors is not a condemnation of the patriots understanding value and the cap better.
Oh and Jordan Matthews says hi

I have a feeling he’s gonna get traded at the draft, and most likely there is no way the return will ever match what he brings to the team. He’s a beast. But I would be thrilled with a 1st round pick. I bet we get a 2nd round pick. That’s a Belichick type move (Think of the Collins return and the Jones return). Belichick is about no drama, and caring about the players that show up. If Gronk doesn’t want to show up and isn’t sure if he wants to play (for the Pats), Belichick will make the move.

Sometimes you have to move on from unhappy players, despite our love of Gronk.

Unless hes posturing for more money.
I mean if another 2 mill makes him happy id give it to him

Fair enough. That said, I don’t think Gronk seems like the kind of young guy to be up and at ‘em that early in the offseason if he didn’t have plans to play.

Ah, Gronk!

I met a couple of guys who knew him a few years ago. They said he was "a really nice guy -- not, you know, a physics professor, but a really nice guy". So there you are!

My own guess is that it's his physical well-being rather than money or being sensitive to being shouted at when he drops a pass or misses a block. They all know that (as Mayo says) the injury rate is 100%, but they have a right to the most up-to-date and most effective conditioning and therapy and they should be able to trust the coach to provide them with that.

Am i only one sick of this guy already? I love gronk but geez dude. Maybe he wants to play elsewhere.

Yup, I like him, he is funny and Im thankful for all that he has done for the Pats.

But, Gronk is not happy and needs to go. He is making the same blunder that Deion Branch made 12 years ago and will likely realize it when its too late. Gronk has a celebrity status and all these doors open to him because he is successful at playing football. He plays with the best QB, for the best HC and on one of the best teams. People outside the walls of the NFL like to surround themselves with greatness and Gronk is great. Today.

Tomorrow, when Gronk is on another team and just another NFL TE, people are not going to offer him movie roles and all the other BS.

Geuerrero’s “conditioning and therapy” has virtually zero basis in scientific fact. Just because the greatest QB of all-time believes in his snake oil, doesn’t make it the “most effective.”

Everything I've seen says he is making $8 million this year. Underpaid? Sure. But big difference between $4M and $8M.

If Gronk wants to to be the highest paid TE he needs to pack his stuff right now.

Brady is not the highest paid.

Looks like he's holding out
That's all it seems to be ... lots of drama based on sweetening the contract.
Some good sources wired into it are alluding to money being the elixir.

A lot of people in the fitness and therapy industry are moving in the direction of the kind of things that Guerrero does. It's not just yoga and Pilates, but martial arts and various forms of modern "movement culture".

And then there's the other side -- that the Patriots don't have a good record of keeping their players free of ligament and muscle injuries, so it's not surprising that men putting their health on the line are looking for alternatives to training methods that have come largely from body-building.

You say that there is "virtually zero basis in scientific fact" for the kind of thing Guerrero does. It would be nice if you gave some ... you know, evidence for that.

Trust their Coach to what?

Gronk is able to train with Guerrero if he wishes.
The patriots also have a FOOTBALL training staff.
If you think belichick should allow Guerrero’s ideas to take over his football training staff that would seem ill informed to me.

Trade him to Niners for their #9 pick in the 1st round.
I don’t believe for one second that we could get the 9th overall pick in the draft for a Gronk. But for jetes and giggles, let us ponder the gnashing of teeth and wailing through out the NFL, especially the AFCE when that transaction crosses the wire. The Pats could leak out sooooo much bad information. How much could we get the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins to overpay for their guy at QB? I would actually watch the draft all the way through for the first time in years.
