This was in a player’s meeting in the week before the 2016 AFC Championship Game.

“They ain’t stand a chance because of this night. We were having night meetings because we were playing at night. All the coaches leave and Tom stands up in front of the team. And in that moment he said a compliment for every single guy on the team that meant something from that guy as a person, as a player from scout team to Gronk. He knew every single player, what they had been doing, how they’re developing, what they’re getting better at. And I’m in there like I’ve never seen anything like this. It was no like, ‘Rah, rah,’ ‘Any Given Sunday’ speech, you know, Al Pacino or anything like that — every single player was different.”

Very cool. What hasn't been said enough is how much better a QB and leader Brady is now. THIS Brady wins the 2007 and 2011 Super Bowls.

I agree.

If by that you mean a fully healthy Brady unlike the one we got in both of those two SBs. In terms of leadership he has grown but was always among the best.

Goes without saying, but it’s truly going to be devastating when this guy calls it quits. Manly tears will be shed that final day :(

You've got to be kidding me with that crap.

Brady has improved, yes, since 2001, in every aspect of his game, including leadership...But to suggest that something was lacking, before, is pure horseshit.

Brady isn't as good a leader now as he'll be a year from now.

That doesn't mean that anything's lacking, now.

He's growing and evolving every day...and in every way, baby!! :D

Brady was ready to lead the first time he stepped under center, back in 2001.

I think he was held back a little in his younger years. I remember a story written that Willie McGinest verbally admonished him when he was talking to another player. I think the thought was there was veteran leadership on the team and it was not his turn.

Hey man, don't get so angry.

Brady’s always been a fantastic leader. That’s been said by teammates & coaches from the time he came to the team until now.
Absolutely. He's always been terrific. And I personally think the Brady of now would have won the 2007 Super Bowl.

It doesn’t work that way though

1) Brady was in a walking boot leading up to that game. He hurt his leg/ankle in the AFC Championship game and he wasn’t close to 100%

2) the o-line **** the bed that day. Brady took a beating much like he did in the AFC Championship in Denver a few years ago, a game he also lost

A healthy Brady or maybe a little better job by the o-line and we likely win that 2007 SB, but the loss had nothing to do with his leadership.

I think the Brady of today wins that game.

Brady, Ditka and Secretariat at The Derby. Who ya got?

Wonder what tom would say if he was forced to do the same for all patsfans.com posters
