Clayborn indeed: visiting tonight!

Flowers, Wise, Rivers, and Clayborn.....I think I can live with that...along with Hightower crashing down....

Clayborn's turning 30 by next season, which might be problematic. I'd rather have Okafor if that is possible.

This is going to be such a ****ty signing. Going to be mediocre and end up in BBs doghouse by year 2 at least. Jabaal Sheard 2.0

Sheard was good his first season here - didn't start games but had 8 sacks.

After further research, it seems like PFF rated Jabaal Sheard as a 91 overall player - what they consider elite. My response: wot

I’d like the guy for cheap, but it’s hard to get too excited if it’s for a lot.

My gripe is, yes he had 9.5 sacks, but 6 of those were in a single game against a very checked out Cowboys team.

Albeit, that is still very impressive to do in the NFL, I would hope for a little more consistency if you’re gonna hand out big money to a pass rusher.

It's not impressive at all when you consider he did it against a non NFL player. That LT that game was like their Jordan Richards.

We could have used Sheard last year. I'll take that level of play. Add in Rivers, Hightower, and a rookie LB, and you're looking at a competent front again.
If Sheard were here last year he'd be inactive doing nothing like he was for most of 2016.

Surprised you're not including your Keionta..
Langi, Lee, A.Butler on usual Foxboro sophomore jump..

"We need an edge rusher! No, not that one! Nah, not that one either!"

There's no pleasing people like you.
Yes just sign anybody! Who cares if they're any good or not?

Eh, I was trying to appeal to the mainstream crowd by only listing starters or first-into-the-rotation backups. But you're right; I do expect a solid showing from Davis and Langi. :)

Last year, Clayborn had more sacks, hits, and hurries than any of our edge rushers, other than Flowers, and he had about 300 fewer snaps than Flowers. That's an upgrade at the position for not a lot of money (most likely). Who do you think they're going to get? Trade for Demarcus Lawrence or Cameron Jordan? Clayborn is the top DE in free agency. Suh will be waaaaay out of our price range. Why not add a solid guy who upgrades the line at a reasonable price?

Would love this signing. He seems like a good fit. If BB wants to run a 3-4 he'd be a nice add.
At first I thought they meant Ray...

...wouldn't complain...

...but he might punch out CHB in the locker room...

...still wouldn't complain...

Doesn't get me excited, I have a feeling someone is going to overpay for him.

let me know when and if they actually sign the him.
