Rex Burkhead re-signed

RB position will be fine with the guys we have (plus maybe a picked RB this Spring). It was the position of strength (along w QB) on this team all year.

Will be interesting to see how the rest of the roster shapes up.

Been saying the same since January. As long as we were able to keep one out of Burkhead/Lewis we are fine. If something comes across the way and enables us to upgrade from Gillislee then fabulous. But he is a totally fine RB to go into 2018 into.

It will be interesting to see what the numbers are..

This is good news. He had some big games for us. Just need to keep him healthy

...Smart move Matt....smart move...

Loved Dion’s athletic ability but I’ll take (a healthy) Burkhead over him every time in NE’s offense. Good size, good receiver, can be a short yardage guy, can be a third down back, core STer... great player. Really happy to keep him for several years.

I can't agree with this. They're close, but Lewis made people miss more than any back I've seen in Patriot's uniform since at least Curtis Martin. If he stays healthy, the Titans got a good deal.

Burkhead, though, is really good.

Yeah I’m just talking about versatility. No question Dion is an athletic marvel.

Burkhead is a better receiver, more of a Swiss Army knife type player. When all our RBs were healthy, could not find enough snaps to justify big money for each. Someone had to go.

Good. He surprised me as a runner along with his ability to make guys miss. Not quite Lewis-esque, but it'll do. Hope he stays durable.

Long way to go for filling the remaining holes.

I suspect the timing of Lewis signing and Rex now re-signing is not coincidental.

I'm somewhat surprised Gill hasn't get the axe. Soon to come? Or they see something in him they think will bloom this coming season?

I have my Husker colored glasses on...and yes he’s a good receiver special teamer yada yada yada. But no dion is the more electric rb. But Rex is cheaper when you consider what whites getting already. And if you factor in us taking a rookie back then Rex James and the rook > dion and white

Great to have him back! If its alot guaranteed id guess the overall hit cant be that bad?? Hard to see us guaranteeing such a big contract given the injuries

Well done.

He plays 16 games hes a 1200yrd combo rush/receiving, 10 TD RB.

Health is THE key with this guy as we know what he can do in this offense.

Welcome back, IRex. I suspect they’ll target a back in the draft and the position should be (hopefully) set.
