Dolphins snatching Amendola

Probably Dola’s last contract, can’t blame him for trying to get as much as possible. Dolphins overpaid as always, especially considering he does his best work in the playoffs which they’ll never see.

The pessimist says when the glass is mostly empty life sucks:
Britt - sucks
Dorsett - sucks
Edelman - injury prone
Hogan - good
Mitchell - injury prone
Lots to be excited about

The optimist says the glass is half full, it needs stirring but we will soldier on:
You are the straw that stirs the Patsfans.com drink. But, we'll find a way to slog forward, even without your stamp of approval.

The fnord says oh God screw the drink, who do I root for:
Oh god, Deus vs FCB I seriously have no idea who to root for.

The realist says:
It's time for another round of drinks and please pass the popcorn

You could line this up on that wall in the blue room bar off naked gun. The fall of London bridge, Hindenburg’s disaster, 9-11 and Amendola leaving the pats. I liked that feeling, knowing fourth and ten dial makes the play

Purely on the field, it won't affect us that much. Edelman will come back guns blazing with 13 months to rehab. Cooks, Edelman & Hogan is one of the best WR trios in the league while we have Mitchell/Dorsett hopefully to provide depth.

Intangibles wise, I don't like this one bit.
Thus made me happy:)

I expected to lose Dola. We only paid him 1.7 million last year and he took a hair cut the last few seasons. We are stacked at WR and weren't going to give him $$$$. If all of our WR's are healthy next year...Dola might not even be active on game days....Cooks, Mitchell, Hogan, Dorsett, Edelman, Britt, and Slater...

That being said...THANK YOU, Dola! Great time in NE....two Superbowls....and clutch play-off performances....

Dorsett might not even make the team. He, Britt and Slater aren't half the player Amendola is and Mitchell, if he makes it through training camp will be injured by week 4. Not to mention we could lose Gronk. Most clutch WR on the team gone. Most likely over peanuts. Typical Bill. He's incapable of change or introspection. He just does what he does like a robot. Why we won nothing from 05 to 14.

Amendola outside of the playoffs is a 4th or 5th option and not worth any significant money.

He's as clutch as they come in the playoffs but they aren't going to pay a guy based on a handful of games a year.

His track record as a full time player is his body can't handle it and he gets hurt which is why he's not used much during the regular season and his body will struggle to hold up as a Landry replacement in Miami.

Aren't going to pay a guy based on the only games that matter? That is ridiculous logic. What do you think the goal is each year? To win regular season games?

This is the most bent out of shape I have been about losing a guy since David Givens. Best of luck to Danny and I'm glad to see him get paid.

The days of guys taking below market deals to stay or sign w the pats are over

He took more than enough. At some point enough is enough and you get tired of being disrespected.

Heard they also got him a real garage, not some crappy carport. Sealed the deal.
But wouldn't a carport be preferable in southern Florida? What I'm wondering is where @Patjew will be lurking now. (Do you have family in Miami, PJ?)

I hope Tannehil doesn't break him. He was a great Patriot. We won't truly feel his loss until the playoffs.

Amendola found all of Brady6's past posts... that was the tipping point

People seeing these crazy WR contracts being given out? I love Amendola but given his regular season track record he is not worth $6 million a year, especially since the Dolphins just signed Albert Wilson, another slot WR for $6 million a year!

Sammy Watkins: $16 million a year
Allen Robinson: $14 million a year
Marquise Lee: $9.5 million a year
Paul Richardson: $8 million a year
Ryan Grant: $7.25 million a year
Donte Moncrief: $7 million a year
John Brown: $5 million a year

These mediocre WRs are getting paid!

Anyone wanna guess how much Cooks, the only one among those guys to put up 1,000+ yards consistently, gonna get next offseason? :(
