Dolphins snatching Amendola

Mixed feelings.
BIG Dolla fan. Guy was clutch. Year after year post season. Sad to see him go. Real sad. Much more so than when Welker left.
However, since he took pay cut after pay cut, I am very glad to see him max out on the cash for his future family.
At the reported deal price, it did not make sense for the Pats to re-sign him. Too many other needs.
I'm still bummed though.

And the days of us not paying $6 million a year for a soon-to be 33-year-old No. 4 receiver are still here.
That is a bargain in today's WR market

That's an overpay. I don't think I'd be that happy if the Pats coughed that up to bring him back.

I dont think it is an overpay if like Miami you see him as your WR3 which given modern spread formations and whatnot means essentially a starter. From the perspective of a WR4 it is insane money. And whether his body can take the punishment of an increased role is a different question altogether.

Thats about the most insane i have seen in a long time, Dola has taken friendly deals the last 3 seasons... Now he gets 2mill more then Edelman in base AND garantered money....

yeah,

all the "die hards" are going to be up in arms about this but the fact of the matter is Dola is going to make more next year, then he did for like the past three seasons combined. the dude has ****ing earned that paycheck and everyone *****ing about it needs a reality check.

I'm glad about this move. Obviously a cancer because he took the most money. Only millennials with small penises would disagree.

Horrible news. I just read it and he is staying in the division only makes it worse. Come on Bill....this is not a great off season yet !

Its heartbreaking . one of my favourite guys.
But with this WR depth and no LT . you just can't pay that.
(btw - i think they are pretty high on Cody Hollister as core ST, great backup WR)

But with this WR depth and no LT . you just can't pay that.

Even with 60M of cap space you cant pay that unless he is your WR3 and even then it is not necessarily a cheap deal. Fingers crossed for Dola that he stays healthy through it all and that consistent added snap count doesnt wear him down again.

Also lets keep in mind that he will get an even bigger piece of the pie since there is no income tax in Florida.

I was on a conference call when the notification came on my phone and it such a blah feeling. That being said he's made so many clutch plays when it mattered you can't be mad at him getting one last big money contract.
