Supposedly the Pats made him a generous offer

When is the last time the Patriots made a generous offer to a player already on the roster? For purposes of the question, ignore the JAG scenario.

I don't think there's any way BB wanted him back anyway. That's another reason the refusal to play him in the SB is so maddening. He's out of here anyway. Whatever you don't like about him or his game, you'll never have to see him again. So try to win the game! GRRRR.
How dare you raise your internet voice about Bill Belichick, after all he's done for you! *sob*

We’re not ever going to know.

The reason I think there’s something important we don’t know is because of this.

They refused to adjust and use butler. This makes no sense with the info we have. Now, this idea that the game plan was set and the players used were the best idea to win stuff refused to balance in my mind. If there is no info out there then I have to feel the game was intentionally thrown. That does not compute at all
As a wise one once said "If you have to ask, you'll never know."

You saw losing/"didn't care" body language in Brady? Hell no.

I saw something wrong. Someone here pointed out that his body language didn't look good, at all. Either way, we probably won't know what the hell was said in the locker room.

You did when you were once again trying to tweak.

I haven't seen Bedard's article, since I never signed up for the site. So, I really can't tell you what he's thinking, sorry.

My mistake I thought I saw you talking about a Bedard article a while ago. Sorry for the confusion.

Nothing's working and he decides to just sit him. Butler's capable of making a big play at any moment. You don't think butler on agholor would have helped? All they needed was a couple of stops in the second half. It's an asinine move. Rowe over butler as the second corner's not a smart move.

Seriously, if you can't make something not about Butler then stay out of other threads than the megathread. I am tired of your and other peoples speculation about what could have been taking over every ****ing thread here that tries to make sense of the game.

This is not about Butler or what he could have done but about what actually happened.

Not too often which is why I said his words not mine, but will be interesting to see what he eventually gets and wonder if they could have worked out something here..

Supposedly the Pats made him a generous offer, this is the writers words, not mine, and butler thought he should get more. I forget now who said that the other day, might have been holly but not 100% sure. Id like to know how much it was and how much he ultimately ends up getting.

it was 7-8 mil per, but he wanted to retire a patriot. bb doesn’t do big years for cbs.

butler never, ever get over it.....obviously

umm, he didn’t trust him. one source said as much...get over it. butler wasn’t even playing that well in the postseason or down the stretch and gilmore’s play vs jax at the end of the game and the attention gilmore got from that, probably set this whole thing off.

That’s the crazy thing too. Butler would have made a couple passes be incomplete you’d think. Even if he broke up two passes more than what happened. Pats win that game

did you read that rowe had a good game and allowed like 14 yards receiving after his tight coverage on that jeffery td and that seed by foles?

you need to get 2015/2016 butler out of your head

he would have gotten eaten alive unless he was put on torrey smith. we needed to solve the eventual agoholor problem.

You have to have your head up your ass if you believe butler would not have done a better job on Agholor than Chung/bademosi

neither one of them should have been on him. i’ve said this 100 times. you people who barely watch the rest of the nfl don’t realize agoholor was more of a threat on underneath routes as opposed to the 4 or 5 deep routes jeffery runs.

i have only said this a gazillion times

once chung got concussed they should have moved bademosi to ertz and told him to hammer him at the line. bademosi is clearly superior to richards.

once
chung returned, bademosi should have shifted over to ertz again to do his thing

My problem is with Butler playing 0 snaps. Why not try this safety heavy scheme on 1st and 2nd down and then bring in Butler when they had to throw on 3rd and long? They killed us on 3rd down.

I did notice but I also watched them attack butlers side of the field a lot and feel like it might have been better if he was in there on someone. 14/17 receptions is not happening on butlers worst day. Gilmore played a fine game. The rest of the def. reminded me of keystone cops or that wierd chicken off reefer madness

I’m not remembering butler from days of old just from the past ten games or so
