If Belichick were to leave, rest assure Matt Patricia would have stayed and taken over, NOT McDaniels. The fact Patricia took the Lions job, means one simple thing: Belihicik isn't going anywhere. Not anytime soon at least.
Maybe there is something to the BB/Kraft/Brady/Jimmy story.
Something's brewing here.
BillB's contract ends after 2018 season. TomB said he will be playing in 2018.
But.... 2019?
Why would you think that? The fact that McD stayed likely points to an understanding that he’s going to be a HC here soon, right? Bill isn’t going to string him along like Parcells did to him.Bill isn't doing one more season and being done.
He either signs a extension or retires now. No way he just does one more season just cause his contract says
Spygate and deflategate had longer timelines than this.Spygate, Deflategate, the post SB 36 stuff with Parcells.
I feel like there have been zanier 48 hour periods.
I don't think you can officially sign until after the season ends for your team and I highly doubt McDaniels signed anything yesterday since he seemed to already have 2nd thoughts by then.... so it seems to me nothing could have been official....If he signed to be Colts' coach, can we be found guilty of tampering? What are the rules here if it can be proven he has been given a raise or any other tangible incentive?

Between the Butler fiasco and this news, this has been possibly the most bizarre 48 hours in franchise history.
