Speaking and fumbles and chips on shoulders...I think LG Blount force trauma will have things to show his old mates, too.

I agree but hasent LB fumbled in both the SB’s he played in?

Yeah I never believe it when we think some RB is going to do x,y, z in a specific game. Patriots are too hard to predict.

Eagles are average defending running backs. Hopefully lewis can break some tackles on some short/screen passes to slow the pass rush down.

I still think the biggest reason we struggled against Jax was their linebackers were so fast they shut down the short passing game.

I dont think the eagles have as fast linebackers

...to take down the birds. :)
Sign that cat up. Nice takedown

Not sure where the Eagles are average defending RB’s, maybe in pass catching but they are stout in a pure running game. I dont ever think NE RB’s will out up big yards on the ground in big games, just seems like it is never in the plan.

I will say this, the Eagles for whatever they are did go 13-3 so they are not a pushover.

Add Eric rowe to the motivated former eagles they gave him away for nothing basically kinda tells the player what the team viewed him as
So now we have Dola and Lewis with chips on their shoulders regarding the Eagles....this is fantastic !!

A RB has been key in every SB since 2011. Woodhead, Vereen, White... so it should not be a surprise if Lewis continues that trend tmw..

Thats not at all what I meant...I just said we have not really seen a big yardage rusher in the SB. Thats all.

And at last to me its only Key if they win.

Not so sure that they gave him away for nothing. It was either a 3rd/4th round pick dependent upon playing time. That’s basically what Jay Ajayi (4th) and Aqib Talib (4th) received.

That makes no sense at all. A gameplan can be great and you can still lose to chance the same way you can win with a terrible gameplan. Winning or losing has nothing to do with how you view a teams strategy. Unless you are some fantasy-level football fan that doesnt care much about the sport..

i shouldv'e put a caveat to my post...I mean in pass catching. Eagles defense gives up a 100 passer rating to running backs/tight ends. I highly doubt lewis will have alot of yards on the ground.

But if you look at our last 2 superbowls, the guys who had really good games were Vereen/james white against the linebackers.

Lewis can be just as deadly this game in passing. And the patriots generally like to use the short passing/screen game as almost an extension of the running game.

If you can hit a couple of screens for large gains that slows down the pass rush alot

According to the local media covering the Patriots, they were going to attack Jacksonville w Lewis, White, Burkhead...didn't work out well. Lewis really only had one impactful play, granted it iced the game...Would love to Lewis have a huge game Sunday, but certainly wouldn't bet on it

According to someone on this forum are season should have finished two weeks ago after about 12 minutes of game time
