As offensive coordinator if we feel he is a better talent than O'Shea or whoever else on the staff.
I see no need to bring someone in from the outside and teach them the system when we can promote from within with Dante, fears and Brady here.

Josh apparently has accepted the Colts offer and WILL be their coach, and that makes Vrabel TEN's top choice.

If Skippy takes the Indy gig even if Tennessee makes a similar offer, then he's a damned fool. Irsay's place is a House of Fail. And if Skippy does take the Indy gig, then I'll be rooting for the Clots to lose even stronger than I already do.

Come on, now, Captain.

  • Irsay's place has had just 2 losing seasons in the last 16, and both were in years where the expected starter ended up missing the entire season
  • Irsay's place has been to 2 Super Bowls in the last 16 seasons
  • Irsay's place has won a Super Bowl in the last 16 seasons
  • Irsay's place has reached double digit wins 12 times in the last 16 seasons

  • The Tits have had 6 losing seasons in the last 16
  • The Tits have been to 0 Super Bowls in the last 16 seasons
  • The Tits have won 0 Super Bowls in the last 16 seasons
  • The Tits have reached double digit wins 4 times in the last 16 seasons
What the future will hold, only the future will tell. But Irsay's place has obviously been the more successful of the two options in the last decade and a half.

With the Titans' move yesterday, this'll be the 7th year out of 8 where there have been at least 7 coaching changes in the NFL. In those 8 years of the new CBA (owners have deeper pockets to eat salaries), there've been 57 of them.

I don't care what's happened in the past in Blood Clot Land. If all other things (salary, term etc.) are close, then Tennessee over Indy is a no-brainer.

And I will absolutely be praying to Ganja for Skippy to fail miserably if he goes there.

Obviously not. You're way off on this, if Luck is healthy.

The Seahawks have officially announced the hiring of defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr., offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and offensive line coach Mike Solari...

...Along with confirmation of that move came an announcement that the Seahawks fired their previous defensive coordinator Kris Richard....

Seahawks fire Kris Richard, hire Ken Norton Jr.

How much of the difference in success of the Titans and Colts over those 16 years directly comes from a now-retired Peyton Manning?

Post Manning, there isn't much difference, though the Colts did have a long head-to-head streak vs. the Tits, after Manning. The Titans seem to have now fixed their deep organizational problems of the past. The Colts may be on their way there too (at least in the GM area), but there's still Irsay, like a turd in the punch bowl.

???

For the Colts, post Manning:
53-43, with 3 playoff appearances and a 3-3 postseason record

For the Titans, post Manning:
36-60, with 1 playoff appearances and a 1-1 postseason record

That's a huge difference

There is a difference, granted, but there is one of two punch bowls there that, though it has a slightly better grade of alcohol in it, also has a turd named Irsay floating in it. I'd avoid the one with the turd.

Deflippio would be perfect for him.
Like to see us make a move for Deflippio vs a yes man already on the team.
Knowing BB he will hire some young guys on some small school not known for football as a assistant coach and then they will go thru the ranks and we will say these guys are genius's
Yes man? So Patricia and McDaniels were yes men?. I prefer to see it as BB developing talent within his system and promoting the best candidates. Remember he went to Patricia and McDaniels, not Pepper Johnson or Brian Daboll.

I'm not going to play the game of "Let's have Palm Beach Pats Fan move the goalposts!". The post you made, that I responded to, was wildly incorrect. I'll leave things at that.

I moved no goalposts. I even admitted that you were right, I was wrong, and that Indy's recent record even post-Manning is superior. Thus recent success could indeed sway Josh toward Indy, as you noted.

I simply then expanded the analysis to say that if I were Josh, though, that would not be enough to overcome the Jim Irsay factor in deciding where I would want to work.

Secondly, I would also attribute a large amount of that recent 5 or so year run of success to Andrew Luck, who can't throw a football right now, and I doubt if even Josh McDaniels (who is not a doctor) has a great grasp of whether he will ever throw one again.

You moved the goalposts. First there was no difference, plus "turd". Now there's a difference, but "STILL TURD!". That's moving the goalposts. And, you're doing it again with the following:

First it was Peyton and then no difference.
Now there's a difference, but it's Luck.

Just stop. You had a lousy argument, probably because you didn't bother thinking it out. It happens to everyone. There's no need to keep doubling down.

What the hell is wrong with people around here today?

News on the Brian Flores front:
The Cardinals have interest in bringing back John DeFilippo for a second interview and he's a strong candidate there, per @RapSheet

What the hell is wrong with people around here today?

I don't know, check the mirror. You're all bent out of sorts because I told you that you were right and that I was wrong. That is some weird [crap]. The Irsay equals a turd comment was also right there in my original post, so it was no add-on.

Thanks for providing the facts to back up your correct argument about relative success of the two teams, post-Manning. Facts are good. I am a fan of facts.

I can also offer my opinion about choosing (or not) to work for a crappy boss. It sucks, even if you are one reporting level removed from the turd in question.

It's pretty amusing that they lost 45-42 and it's the OC that's getting canned and the entire defensive staff is coming back unchanged.

You gave up 45 points to the Jags with Bortles at QB! You scored 42 points against one of the best Ds in the league! Fire the OC!

Let's see how we do against the Jags O before we cast judgement

The Jets have fired offensive coordinator John Morton, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.

Morton became a first-time play-caller last season, and the Jets finished 28th in total yards, 29th in first downs, 23rd in third-down efficiency, 24th in scoring, 24th in passing yards and 19th in rushing yards. They missed the postseason for a seventh consecutive season.

Report: Jets fire offensive coordinator John Morton
