What we as Patriots fans need to know is who this guy is:

MysteryJetvideoguy.jpg

This guy appears on Jets sideline throughout last weeks game shooting with a video camera. He is not wearing a black vest nor an NBC vest as required by the league. In fact, from the pictures below it appears that he may even be wearing the same Jets polo as head coach Eric Mangini.

Note the guy with the camera and dark green shirt...

Now note Magini in the bottom left hand corner while our camera man is in the top right... wearing what looks to be a very very similar style shirt...

This man with the camera and in a shirt that very closely resembles the head coach's is seen throughout the game shooting the field ONLY when the Patriots Defense is on the field.

Note him in the picture, top right next to the first down marker shooting the Pats D, perhaps even beyond them and in on the Pats coaching signs.

So all we want to know is... WHO IS THIS GUY? Why isn't he in a league-mandated black vest required of all videographers? Why is wearing what looks like the same shirt of head coach Eric Mangini? Because if he's a Jets employee with a video camera on the sideline of a game... that could mean the Jets were doing the same exact thing the Patriots were.

Who is he? Can someone tell us? Please sign this thread if you'd like to know. An internet petition if you will. We need to demand an answer in force.

There's already an official thread on this

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

there's already an official thread on this

There are three threads on this and no one was sharing any information. Tried to combine what we actually knew into one place that sums it up. If we are going to get the attention of major media outlets they're not gonna go sifting through hundreds of pages of threads to figure out what the hell we're trying to say. Sorry if I broke the rules. But I thought it would help things.

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

Still it good pics and if you can somehow send them to NFL Headquarters maybe via mail and attention them to Goodell it would be cool

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

Yah this is way more organized, thanks! Keep it up guys!

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

Add me to the list of those wanting to know what the hell is going on here!

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

I agree with those above me. The first post is well organized and the thread seems far more organized at this point. To contribute, here is Dr Pain's conversation with a ...media member? I dont quite know who its with.

A lot of the other thread discusses the original allegation. This seems like more a summary of facts, now that we have a real idea of whats going on.

Dr. Pain said:
I will give him a chance to see what he does with as he would have no idea I was writing here. I wouldn’t want to get him in trouble as he is the only person who responded. I wouldn't want him to get in troble for that. He is from Hearst though.

1st contact

I wrote on one of the contact us pages asking who he the guy in the photo was and sending the photo link

2 Email in response

Actually, that's not him (the guy in the picture is a Jets employee according to our photographer, who knows him). Matt, the "guilty" photographer, interned here a couple of years ago... and that is not him. _________________________________

3 Email to him

Thanks,

So as a Jets employee filming he broke the same rule the Patriots did?

4 Email from him

And I totally missed the point of your e-mail!

Consider this... the shooters do have that kind of access (as do ours)... but if the Jets guy was doing bad things, he wouldn't be shooting his own team!

5 Email to him

If you watch the game film, He is shooting while the Patriots defense is out and not the game but the Patriots.

6 Email to him

Also stealing signals is not against the rules, it was having the cameraman on the sideline. We won't know if he did steal signals since he didn't get stopped but by just being there he committed the same offense as the Patriots.

7 Email from him

Not necessarily. There are dozens of photographers on the sidelines during a game. Our guy could have shot the Jets coaches without anyone noticing. What is banned is team employees shooting coaches giving signals. It's rather specific.

Actually, when you add it all up, considering Mangini knew the shooter, it's starting to sound like a sting!

8 Email to him

Ah, I though he was a Jets employee. That is specifically prohibited per the rules I believe as there are only the 3 designated places they can shoot from and not from the field. If he is a media member with access then that is a different story. If he is a Jets person then they broke the same rules the Patriots did.

Is he a Jets person?

Thank you,

Email 9 to him

Please look at this page from the link below and it's two photos clipped from TV. There are about 100 patriots fans working on this now at a bunch of sites but no one from the media seems to get it. If he is a Jets employee they are subject to the same penalty as the Patriots. Stealing signals is not against the rules, its filming on the sideline that is. If he is a Jets employee it’s a slam dunk. If he is not then it is meaningless. You said in your first response he was a Jets employee.

Thank you,

Paul

Email 10 from him

But wouldn't our cameraman also be guilty of breaking the rules?

It's a moot point now though... check out our website for the ruling.

Email 11 to him

I think you are missing my point or question. If he is a Jets employee this is a violation of the same rule the Patriots broke. If he is media then it is a non issue. Is he a Jets employee? Do you know? Sorry to be a pain but you are the only person nice enough to have responded and we are all dying to find out?

Thanks,

Email 12 from him

That's true. I'll think about this more once we get past tonight's madness.

No problem... I enjoy the occasional debate.

Email 13 to him

Thanks,

1 more photo of him aiming at the Patriots sideline while the Patriots defense is out. The post # 142 showing a shot a 4:25 in the 3rd.

No, he's way too seriously decked out for that. He's filming the Pats D, it certainly looks to me. And he's doing it without the proper ID, vest, etc. Something smells here.

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

This whole thing has seemed absolutely odd from the beginning. Will someone who has a pair actually stand up and ask some serious ?'s here? I mean c'mon! The pats have gotten absolutely lynched for this and not one reporter has the balls to try jumping on this one?

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

Very interesting. Send this thread to all media outlets and NFL HQ!

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

Reading the Commish's statement HERE

NFL policy states that “no video recording devices of any kind are permitted to be in use in the coaches’ booth, on the field, or in the locker room during the game” and that all video shooting locations for club coaching purposes “must be enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead.”

Evidence in this thread clearly shows a Jets employee filming that is not "enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead".

Why is everyone ignoring this...

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

Because media people (especially sports) would rather repeat what they already know or state the obvious rather than having to actually follow through with an investigation.

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

Yeah and this Steeler fan will also sign the petition wanting to know who he is and what he's doing.

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

FYI - I copied the photos and some of the text of this thread and sent it in an email to Dale & Holley and the Big Show at Weei. I also sent links of this and the other thread on this topic.

My questions are:

1. Is this in fact a Jets employee?

2. Are we sure what the extact rules are regarding video taping by team employees with respect to what color vest etc. is supposed to be worn?

3. Is it possible for some one from the media/tv to film on the sidelines and not be required to wear a vest or other specific attire.

4. There is a guy with a boom mike next to the video guy. Does this indicate that the filming is in fact for entertainment purposes? Would the boom mike be able to pick up the Pats offensive/defensive calls on the field?

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

This is all well and fine as long as we keep it professional and factual. Lets not turn into that poor Rams fan that sets in his Moms basement in his pajamas constantly dissecting every second of film from Super Bowl XXXVI. Anybody got that link? It’s very funny.

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

These photos need to get to NFL headquarters.

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

Has anybody posted this information on the Gang Green message board?

Just wondering.

Re: The OFFICIAL Jets Did It Too! Thread (in pictures)

i tried getting a membership on their board, but you need an official email, not hotmail, yahoo, gmail or anything like that.

Does anyone have an account on their web site?
If so, why not post this information. Don't post it as an attack, but a question, and get their opinions. Ask the difference between the two.
If you go in there with an agenda, there will be no way that they post it.
