Tony Romo

Romo has some astute observations but as I once said to a girlfriend, "you really should just shut the **** up once in a while."

This is exactly the way I feel. Or when an injury happens I absolutely hate how he plays doctor and within seconds he has a worst case scenario diagnosis. Sometimes its just better to keep your mouth shut for a second.

He's like a chick. I dated a girl like that once and I literally left because I couldn't deal with the yammering. Some people might not care, but it's incredibly annoying.

There is a skill that comes with both sportscasting and the analysis role. Romo is awful.

I think he’s great, but he did seem to lack a sense of space and pace in his comments on Saturday. He was like the micro machines guy at times

I get why you don't like him, and he certainly could improve as a commentator, but I think you're too aggressive about your dislike. Romo took the time during halftime to ask about the time clock, and later in the broadcast he was very clear to explain that it was League run by a neutral party. He shot down any speculation that it was shady timekeeping by the Patriots.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he didn't go out on a limb on his own to seek out that information. It was likely a producer who told him he needed to clear it up and explained who actually controlled the clock.

Oh boy! I don't think they were serious. "It's a Gillette clock." Lighten up. Your team just beat their opponent by four touchdowns. I do,however, agree that Romo sucks. He should be much better, but I think he is not far enough removed from his playing days to act like a pro.

What?

My team has been cheated TWICE by a commissioner perpetuating lies and myths, which has created these kinds of things, and now we have to deal with during a game on live air, and you want us to "lighten up".

Super. How about this? Don't allow defamation and slander against my team continuously over and over?

I like romo a lot. he genuinely cares when teams do dumb things like he was literally crying when titans pulled that 4th and 1 run instead of a pass. people see that as anti pats bias but i see it as someone who sees teams doing things which they shouldnt like a fan and wonders out loud why.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he didn't go out on a limb on his own to seek out that information. It was likely a producer who told him he needed to clear it up and explained who actually controlled the clock.

But, it's his job to know that and be accurate, instead of being a smarmy little tool with a microphone.

The very fact we're talking about this is proof enough Romo sucks, has an enormous ego for no reason tied to any accomplishments in the NFL, and is wildly jealous of the Pats.

Did you hear how giddy he was at the beginning saying "this is why you tune in like it's 1998 and Jordan, waiting for the era to end. Is this it? Is this it?"

What a tool. Brady is an MVP candidate and the Pats are 13-3, healthy and loaded up for another SB run, but you seem ripe for the picking with Rex Ryan?

Just pathetic. Anyone with half a brain can see right through it. Very unprofessional.

It's good that we all don't like the same things in life.. I'll listen to Romo over any other announcer they ever dragged out for the NFL.
Some people say he hates the Pats, bad mouths Brady etc. etc.
I don't see it at all.
He knows the game and often times tells us ahead of the play what might happen ..

He also gets it WRONG a lot. I actually laugh, because as he's hoping and wishing the opponent does what he hopes for, the opposite happens. I've seen it numerous times this year.

And he shows little bias when he does non-Pats games, too.

When you run your mouth that much, of course you may be right once in a while. A blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while, too.

Anyone supporting Romo must have also thought he was a good QB, too. lol[/QUOTE]

This was going along fairly well but some people are worse than Romo and don't know when to keep THER mouth shut

'The fact that you think he's comparable to Jay ****ing Cutler says everything about your position I need to know.

Super. Cool comments. Everyone knows what you mean. LMAO

Yes, I always love primadonna, overpaid, choke job QBs who are sort of dumb and throw INTs at the most god awful time possible.

Great careers!

I agree Romo in no way, shape or form, can keep his mouth shut.

Again, oh boy. The Pats have certainly suffered in this century. You should have been a fan when they were not winning.

Couldn't disagree anymore than i do with the OP. Romo is fantastic and will fast become one of the best in the booth.

He'll fine tune his negatives no doubt because the execs will tell him so but other than that i like a commentator who knows his stuff

I agree with OP. He is incredibly annoying. I can't stand when he watches replays and gives the "Uhhhhhhh is he innnn.....I think he....isss". Or when he makes multiple guesses at what type of play will be ran, or when he just completely makes things up like the "freebie" on the 10 second run off. I'm sure we will be stuck with him next Sunday which will be the farthest he ever got in the playoffs.

Agreed. Romo is very light-hearted. The fact that TC is getting so worked up means that he's too deep in the forest to see the trees. I can't believe someone is offended by something Tony Romo said, he is so goofy and upbeat that I just assume 75% of what he says is tongue in cheek. It's the victim complex we see played on this board all the time.

Also, this reminds me of people watching FOX broadcasts where the Cowboys are featured. It's a guarantee that after the game, opposing fans are going to accuse Aikman of "having an agenda" or "being biased for the Cowboys". It doesn't matter what Aikman says, if he makes a remark that even remotely complimentary of Dallas, he will get grilled for being biased.

Dude you are awful lol. Your post & threads make it clear you haven't a clue. That's being nice.

You also saw a stat about Tennessee defending RB'S in one thread and lol made your own pretending to bring someone orignal.

Take 2 weeks off, then cut your fingers off.

Oh boy! I don't think they were serious. "It's a Gillette clock." Lighten up.
Any other team and I would agree with you, but look at the nationwide hysteria that ensues when the referee resets the play clock in Foxboro, to say nothing of 1 second on the game clock.
