You are jumping to conclusions here... you are assuming this guy has a brain

I have stopped reading that rag a.k.a glob(e) a while back, hence no more reading the crap they put out.

He actually said that ? What is going on in this guys brain ?

It is incredibly selfish of Brady to not step aside from doing what he loves, excels at and makes millions of dollars from.

That guy is about to win the MVP and has a good shot in playing the seventh AFCCG in a row... peak Volin..

He can't get any traction as a reporter, so he's taking the Felger/Jones approach to things.

Anyone calling Brady selfish for not wanting to step aside is a total idiot. Brady’s competitive ferocity in pursuing the starter position was all well and good when he was 23-24 and just part of the legend and what makes him great. The fact that he still has that desire at 40 and doesn’t want to give up the job is now suddenly an issue? What a complete crock. Have these people been reporting on Brady the last 17 years????

I think it’s hilarious that Volin called Brady “ selfish” for not stepping aside for Garrapolo. I guess that makes Belichick “ selfish” for not stepping aside for McDaniels or Patricia.

Sad thing is, the Garrapolites agree with him.

Nice strawman there. Can you actually point to anyone here saying Brady was "selfish" for not letting JG start? Or are you just trolling again?

Update from Wickersham: His sources tell him that this morning in Foxboro it is 75 degrees and sunny.

OK Trollin' why don't you quit your job as a useless, hack reporter and let an intelligent, hardworking copywriter take your spot writing about the NFL and the Patriots.

What a stupid, idiotic thing to say.

I'll tell ya, it s 30 degrees outside and it feels like August. Nice break from the sub-zero wind chills we've been getting for the past 2 weeks.

Give me 2.5 more years of Tom over a decade of JG. Teams scratch and claw to win 1 Super Bowl with hall of fame QBs. We have a legend who gets it done. These suckers want us to end our story short??? So now they’ve worked it so even if we win we lose. They have loser mentality. The future is not guaranteed. Who knows what JG and his collarbone will be(Tony Romo) who knows what our second round pick will amount to. All I know is we have a must win on Saturday and I love this team. Give them nothing, take from them everything.

Great post and this is coming from a fan who started watching the team around 1980. There were some rough times before Mr. Kraft bought the team, Parcells started the rebuild, Carroll treaded water and Bill Belichick, Brady, current & former players, coaches etc started a dynasty. I am going to thoroughly enjoy watching them (Brady & BB) perform until they retire and have no interest in worrying about what happens when they are gone. I still can't believe our team has won five superbowls and has a chance at a sixth this year. Simply amazing.

Great 1st post and my sentiments exactly. Go Patriots!! Let's get a big win on Saturday!!

If someone here said it I would quote them, instead I quoted Volin, who is the Globe writer for the Patriots, and as such a valid part of the discussion. If you have a problem with that tough sh.t.

Let me know when the media is no longer a valid part of the discussion? Since this thread is actually about a media article it certainly seems relevant to me.

My apology for not including you with the trolls, keep going down this road and you may well earn that designation.

Hey Quantum, can you point me to your other posts in this thread where you got upset that writers were being cited?

Even one will do, Ill even let you use any thread?

If not you are simply trying to start sh.t.

Let’s see those quotes?

Ohhhhh, wait.....

Now I get it, you agree with Volin and believe Brady should have stepped down while he’s still the best player in football, and you think Brady was selfish by continuing to play.

Now I understand.

Otherwise your protest makes no sense at all. Quoting a media member in a thread about media perception makes all the sense in the world, except to you, and now I know why.

Here's an open question to Wickersam to test the veracity of the article. He claims Belichick met with Goodell in the last week. When did it happen? It shouldn't be hard to prove or disprove as Belichick didn't jet off to NY midweek or if he did it would have been noticed if he was away from Gillette or if Goodell showed up at Gillette or left NY...

Already debunked by BB himself:

"The last time I saw the commissioner was before our game against Oakland in Mexico City," Belichick told WEEI's Dale and Holley. "He was on the sideline and I saw him before the game and we wished each other well and that was the last time I saw him."

I bet BB had his fingers crossed behind his back when he saw Herr Commish...And the idea that BB would have a willing sit down with him? Laughable.

Easily and by far the worst thing Curran has ever written.
I'm not even going to read it because Curran was on the radio yesterday giving credence to this whole made up BS story. He's lost a lot of credibility with me.

Is it a strawman if that's what Ivan supposes the JG fans believe?

Is it because he's reporting on something you don't like or because you think there's absolutely nothing going on?

Because I'd be hard pressed to believe that there is nothing going on but I do think it's been blown out of proportion. Still, even if the workplace friction is minimal I don't think Curran should lose credibility for reporting on it.
