Sunday Games Thread: Bills/Jaguars and Panthers/Saints

Patriots are the #5 defense, Pittsburgh is #7. Sounds pretty equal to me.

All I'm saying is don't expect to read that anywhere but here, but you of all people probably knew that already.

Yeah, I thought it was obvious he had a concussion, too. The Panthers are now under scrutiny for it as is the NFL.

Honestly, I was surprised Kelce was forced to leave the Chiefs game. He had an obvious concussion but the NFL likes to relax its already relaxed rules in the playoffs, especially for stars.

I had a patriots vs Vikings super bowl. We will see.

I tend to agree. I want NO but playing @ MN will be a brutal game.

Call me crazy but I wonder about ATL. When a team hits rock bottom they either fall apart or they get stronger. I think they are mentally stronger but the offense looks so out of sync. They look like they are stuck in neutral but I give them credit for winning on the road. They should beat Philly and be in the NFCCG.

Where does Dilfer come out ahead? His playoff stats looked way worse than Manning.

I posted the data. It's self-explanatory. Dilfer 2000 was better than Manning 2015.

Cam Newton played a hell of a game. Olsen was getting held on every play like Gronk, that offensive line sucks, and I'm really not sure who half those receivers are; I'm uncertain any of them would even be on the Patriots active roster, including Funchess. Also he definitely had a concussion.

That game shouldn't have even been close based on the gap in talent, and yet the Panthers could have won had the officials not botched the game. That was all Cam.

Exactly, had the Panthers had the Pats' situational football awareness (ie the interception that should have been batted down), amongst other self inflicted wounds that plagued the Panthers all day (dropped TD, missed FG), etc, the Saints' season would be over right now. I will give the Saints defense its due for holding them to FG's in the first half, as that proved to be the difference. If the Panthers receiver holds on to that TD when it was 0-0, might have been a different game. You could see that dropped TD, and missed FG the next play changed that whole complexion of the game. Even after just about every major break went the Saints way, they were still on the verge of losing. Give most QB's 41 seconds on the opponents 21 yard line, and more often that not, they will make you pay for it.

If I tripped on a million dollars dropped at my door it would change everything also. If Falcon didnt get 9 1st downs because of bad calls the Saints win that game. The reality is the Panthers receiver didnt hold on to that TD pass.,Im just thinking this is mental futility.

lol I typed metal 1st Im so dyslexic moron lol

Yep

If is the logo for losers

I find it crazy that the Rapist somehow has 13 playoff wins, and Brees only has 6. That's some BS
yeah been plagued with horrible D in career, and while Cam and Ryan have MVP Brees is just never worthy so he will never get one.

excuse me while I beat this dead horse.

So in the Wild card round.

We had one QB(Bortles) who rushed for more yards than he passed for

And another(Mariota) who can throw and catch the ball himself :D

If only Giselle's husband could do that!

I will take it under advisement. My main point is Carolina did just as much to shoot themselves in the foot, as the Saints did to win it.

Agreed people can see the same thing and have a different thinking based on just the angle at which they view things. you a very smart poster BigZ , Ive followed some of you thinking. Im just thinking that was the best game ever Cam could ever do, and panthers left nothing on the field and Brees beat them, with finally a decent D., that's what i saw.

Thanks, Pherein, always great to have you here and get your take on things. Glad you are part of our conversations here.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but I felt Buffalo had a great opportunity to tie that game at the end. On that final drive with about 1:47 left, I felt the Buffalo coaching staff and Tyrod had easy pickings but failed to capitalize.
That right side of the field was wide open, especially on that 3rd down play. Tyrod could have easily bootlegged for the first down by running right, and could have gotten out of bounds and stopped the clock. Instead he's looking to pass against a prevent defense which of course ended badly. I felt the coach, or Tyrod, should have just kept bootlegging Tyrod all the way down the field, then if the D came up to stop it, THEN go for some passing. The great thing about running wide is the opportunity to get out of bounds and stop the clock whether you get to the yellow line or not.

Wasn't it Peterman and not Taylor by then? So the coaches weren't comfortable using the whole playbook and the entire field.
