Hey, on the bright side, this is a pretty lame 'controversy' compared to the previous years. ESPN must be running out of ideas . And if this is the only one we are going to see this year, I will happily take it!Agreed. BB must either pound his head against the wall or laugh hysterically behind closed doors about how the same scenario plays out for virtually every Super Bowl run.
Pats dominate in the regular season and head into the playoffs with at least a bye and usually with the No. 1 seed.
Media and fans (sometimes fans of the Pats even) make up a stupid controversy which takes on a life of its own and gets beaten to death over and over during the ensuing bye week because there is no football game to disect ad nauseum. Usually the controversy involves Tom Brady, BB and Robert Kraft, or some combination of these 3.
BB stays focused on the game ahead and instructs his players to tune out the noise.
Pats come out and kick butt in their first playoff game (or if they don't then the "controversy" stays alive well beyond its shelf life as the reason for the bad play, or occassionally, the loss). If it is a loss, BB acts all grumpy at the post-game and refuses to discuss "the controversy."
BB stays focused on the game ahead and instructs his players to tune out the noise.
BB and Pats tell the media over and over that they are focused on the game ahead and not some non-story but the media and the fans refuse to let it die. In fact, it has now become "fact" for many in the media and many fans, certainly those of other teams, despite not one shred of proof and repeated denials by all those involved.

Either way, after about 5 minutes, BB is on to 2018-2019.
The guy has really figured out how to live in a highly competitive, cut-throat industry. We should all take some lessons.
Yeah. If he just decided to essentially say 'no comment' then we could maybe feel a pinch uneasy. But he answered it straight up."We're on to Tennessee", among others.
Hes read it. Hes just being Bill. How many times did he say today that he didn't read it? I'm not buying that, at all, especially after reading the dressing down of Reiss. Not to mention the joint statement last week. Doesn't really matter to me - all I care about is that he and the owner have both said they expect him here next year.

I think that answer would invite more speculation. Like I said, I believe he is staying, but I would expect no other answer regardless of his plans.
Lmao
Having trouble being completely wrong again?
I’m not sure why, it’s been like this for years and years.
Right, or lead with, "We'll evaluate all that at the end of the season. Right now, I'm focused on Tennessee"I think if he was unhappy or possibly leaving, he would have given one of those standard answers. That he confronted it head on and actually answered the question is more telling, IMO.
Aren't BB's sons on the Pats staff, Steve safeties coach and Brian scouting ? I would assume he doesn't want to leave just yet , mix up their environment and future. I guess he could take them with him, but better for now in NE .
Besides he isn't leaving anyhow.
I am not leaving as HC of the Miami Dolphins - Nick Saban.
There are still the issues of Brady burning candles and incense in the Pats locker room and putting magnets in his shoes. Alex Guerro is still in business over at Patriot Place with the TB12 Chinese medicine shop. Foxboro has turned into the nut house.
Kraft is back meddling with the grocery list and BB is not going to pull a Tuna and let on that he is leaving the Foxboro funny farm mid playoffs. BB would never put himself before team. He just isn't wired like that.
The Giants are the model franchise that Kraft aspired his team to be and he has succeeded via Bill Belichick. I will believe that BB is back when I see for myself.
Good to know we have Chung for the next 10 years.
