Lip reading Brady and McDaniels

Brady was angry because Josh was right. Everyone did their job, including the Bills breaking down in the secondary, and Tom missed it. It's going to get him bothered knowing it was on him.

Not only was Brady swearing at Josh but McDaniels was okay with it ... nice.

Cooks and Dorsett were both uncovered, Gronk breaking open. Dorsett appeared to have a likely TD. No targets doesn't mean he didn't do his job.

(not directed at you) There is no such thing as a QB who always throws to the most open receiver. There is no such thing as a QB who makes the perfect audible every time, make the perfect read every time, the perfect split second decision every time, makes the perfect throw every time (and there can be reasons not apparent to anyone but the QB as to why the right read, decision, throw couldn't be made).
Anyone projecting perfection onto Brady is living in a fool's paradise. Shocking news! Brady will make mistakes. Forgetaboutit, it is the totality of the 60 minute performance and the totality of the 16 (+3) game season performance that determines THE performance. And the overall is GOAT but shocking surprise! GOATs make mistakes too (though it is said the GOAT in curling, Jaan Ducroz, never made a curling mistake in his career -- literally! not! one! :)).

This is such a non story. TB wants to be perfect and win badly, JM wants to be perfect and win badly, BB wants to be perfect and win badly, _____ Patriot (most) wants to be perfect and win badly. The zen of BB is written all over the Patriots at many levels. Players and coaches who don't possess this fire to be perfect and to win usually don't last with the Patriots or get passed by by no name X who is plying it night and day. It's what helps make the Patriots the Patriots (read comments from FAs who come here to often say how the focus on improving and winning is off the charts). And when this fire gets raging there may be a heated disagreement especially between two of the chieftains.

I am ok with JM saying something to Brady and with Brady letting him know he wasn't happy (reading lips I am absolutely certain Brady said "golly Josh, there was a modicum of difficult circumstance transpiring"). Yet I bet these two guys probably met in the film room yesterday to share a pint of avocado ice cream while together looking at the play (or at plays) on the film.

I wouldn’t be surprised that this way a play that brady and Mcd expected to go differently.
I could see that mcd told brady all week this would get the corner route at the 10 on the left sideline open and brady expected the crosser would be his best target.
So josh threw an I told you so,and brady pissed that he missed/the receiver didn’t bring in the catch, so he told him stfu.
That is a normal coach, great player relationship.

I dont get why we even have a thread about it. Hyper competitive athletes get emotional over missed opportunity. There is nothing special about it.

I repeat myself but Brady almost never targets Dorsett. As noted in another post, he does a very good job blocking. Very rarely are Dorsett and Allen first options, generally 4th or 5th. I think both provide excellent value.

Looks to me like Brady was initially looking at White in the flat, when the corner covering Dorsett reads Brady's eyes and bites up on James White it leaves Dorsett wide open by 10 yards. BB has hilighted this play a few times in Belichick Breakdowns and it's designed to open one or the other guy.

Instead Brady comes off that look and tries to hit Cooks crossing but probably expected Cooks to sit down in the soft spot and instead Cooks kept going, which is why the ball was off target.

The argument is probably something like JM 'why'd you come off it he (Dorsett) was wide open?' and TB defending himself by saying the cooks should have sat down in the hole and maybe a few FU's for added emphasis.

Sheesh, some guys would've been happy with another field goal. Like, the Bills.

He probably didn't want to cause a scene like what happened between Brady & Bill O'Brien in Washington during the mix-up with Kid 'n Play…

Hard to see from this camera view so far away but shouldn’t that have been caught?

It was uncatchable. Looks like Brady expected him to sit in the open zone.

Ignoring the fact that another player was open that was a good throwaway.

Play aside it's a great view of his quick release.

Edit: It's also a great example of his pocket movement. He's on his toes, scanning the field and makes quick decisions. It didn't work out well this play but it's those things that make other plays possible.

And when he had nothing he threw it to a dead spot in the middle of 4 defenders. Any QBs force that and get picked.

I think Tom got nervous because there was so many guys open his head spun :). Eany, meany, miney, mo, where did all the defenders go? I can see how Tom was shocked looking at that defense.

Sure Tom and Josh got in a short spat. No big deal. Imagine the yelling and swearing in the Bill's defensive film review this week. Now that is something to worry about.
