Hello to everyone!

I’m starting my 7500 miles trip to Mexico (I’m from Europe) on Thursday. Unfortunately I don’t have a ticket for the game.

If anyone is also going to the game and has a spare ticket or wants to buy one on secondary market sites, please let me know. Maybe we can team-up, cause as I can see there is a better choice if you buy a pair of tickets instead of a single one.

No senor. Tiene un buen viaje!

I don’t. The game is less dangerous to go to.

I wrote mine for selfish reasons: I'd go to the game in Oakland.

Oakland fans are all bark and no bite. Been to every Pats game there since they returned in 95.

Regards,
Chris

My daughter who is with the U.S. State Department and a big Patriots fan is presently residing in Mexico City and she invited me to visit and stay with her and perhaps attend the game. But she also informed me that this game is being treated in Mexico City similarly to what one might expect of the Super Bowl. Ticket prices are astronomical for a mid-season game, big crowds, lots of festivities, and higher than normal hotel rates.

I decided that I'd much prefer to visit with my brother who lives in Attleboro, a fifteen minute drive to Gillette, and attend a regular season home game.

As for the Raiders game, I will be found in my favorite chair at home in front of my large screen TV, with a number of cans of cerveza on ice, and plenty of tortillas and guacamole in honor of our friends south of the border.
;)

Ole & Go PATS!

Yup I'm going. Just bought my ticket on stubhub.com.mx mid tier for about $250.

I've been in Mexico City for the last few weeks. It's a great place. Amazing food and crazy cheap. And don't worry it's plenty safe. It's just like any other big international city.

Sure you could get your phone swiped on a subway if you're dumb but that happens anywhere. But you're not gonna get kidnapped or witness a cartel shootout. :)

Have a great time and cheer loudly!

The stadium didnt get hit in the recent earthquake.

Thats comforting.

No thanks I want to live

Mexico (the country) has seen a rise in murders recently, most likely attributable to increased organized crime. Last year, it rose to 17.03 murders per 100,000 people.

But Mexico City is one of the safer areas (8.4), and you almost never hear anyone freaking out about going to a game in Baltimore (55.4 murders/100K), Detroit (43.8), or New Orleans (41.7). Miami's murder rate (17.1) is more than twice Mexico City's. And you are less likely to die at the game in Mexico City than if it was in Oakland (20.3).

Mexico City wouldn't make the top 40 US cities in terms of murder rate, finishing slightly behind Toledo, slightly ahead of Las Vegas. It lags far behind NFL cities like Cincinnati (22.1), Atlanta (20.2), Pittsburgh (18.6), man...I don't have time for the whole list.

Obviously as tourists, you're more of a target. I accept that. Then again, wearing Patriots gear into Baltimore doesn't mean you're safer there.

So yes, if you are going to the game in Mexico City, please be careful, pay attention to your surroundings, and stay safe. But you should also do the same walking around many American cities, which are far, far more dangerous.
