HOU QB Deshaun Watson tore ACL - out for season

At the half of the regular season the league lost 5-6 starting QBs to injuries:

Rodgers
Luck
Watson
Palmer
Tannehill
(Bradford)

At least 7 more missed games/playing through significant injuries well under 100%
Flacco, Cutler, Carr , Siemian, Winston, Newton, Mariotta

That's just too much.

That's definitely a lot but not much can be done about it unless they make tackling the QB illegal. They've done a lot to protect QBs -- I just don't know what else can be done.

Best protection against QB injury: get a good OL then tell your QB to stay in the pocket as much as possible. That won't eliminate all injuries, obviously, but those roll outs where the QB is throwing with an awkward body position is going to make for being tackled in an awkward (and likely more injurious) way. But even that won't come close to stopping QB injury.

Tough break for the Texans and or Watson....He was having a great rookie season.

The first words out of my mouth were, "No, ****!". Such an exciting young prospect going down sucks. Not the type of breaking news I wanted to read.

If anything, at least it was just his ACL. No torn MCL's or what have you.

Sucks to get that injury since it ends your season, but QB's have proven to recover pretty well from that injury in recent years. (We would know firsthand)

People might use RG3 as a comparison, but I think RG3 was much more brittle, and didn't have complete elements to his game like Watson. Watson has shown he can be a complete QB.

Tough break for good looking young player. He should rebound well though. With that arm on him, he doesn't need to be Mike Vick or Cam Newton back there.

When has another team lost more of their top tier talent to injuries like HOU has this year? What a disaster.

He's definitely not playing for Houston.

Why not?

1. This is the franchise that paid Ossweiler how many $Ms?
2. What better way to extract the owners foot from his mouth then to erase the ongoing league-wide racism/collusion charge?
(Even though I think the charges are baseless --(both on the Kap issue and a guy using a 100 year old saying and folks intentionally misunderstanding it); hiring Kap would be a get outta jail card in the mediot world).

Sad news for the NFL for ROY to go down at halfway and tough break for him. Hope he heals well.

BOB doesn't get many breaks.

No kidding. He finally gets an above average QB and this happens.

Hate to see a players get hurt. So many are serious injuries too this season. When someone mediot says Brady is older and the patriots are an injury away from disaster they should take a good long look around the league and realize that injuries can happen at any age and to anyone.

Here's is how: Texans just signed Matt McGloin. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Howard Balzer reports Texans owner Bob McNair has "signed off" on working out Colin Kaepernick following Deshaun Waton's season-ending knee injury.

Just had to add

NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR FANTASY TEAM AGGHHHHH!!

and get off my front lawn.
Was hoping for a few more fantasy team updates. Please don’t be so selfish and put people off doing so. More lists of available players on waivers would be very welcome too, only had one thus far

awful....

Well IMO mcgloin is probably a smarter choice than Kap, but I was just saying there were at least two reasons why they might do something stupid.
