Papa John's slams NFL leadership

Worcester fan here. We have Greek pizza on every corner, and I can probably name at least 10 pizza joint s within a mile radius of my home. The closest is Papa John's although I've never ordered from there. Just passed there is Papa Gino's Pizza. Always count on a nice fresh pizza from there. Then there's the greek joints and there awesome toasted grinders.

Yeah, Papa John had his chance to make some noise. Too freaken late!

I feel so terrible for this billionaire who made his living providing garbage to people.
I'm in South Dakota and the crap they call Pizza out here is abhorrent. Maybe Papa John would have better sales if his pizza wasnt gross

No. We make fun of Papa John's "Pizza" because it is not pizza.

.
Agree. I live in Jersey, where there is "real" pizza.

I would never put that crap in my beer receptical.

Why is it always so cliche to hate on pizza chains? I like em all. I usually inject Papa John's garlic butter into my carotid artery when I order from em.

Kneeling:Goodell::Tax Evasion:Al Capone

If that's what gets him out, so be it.

I think more significantly is how it affect the commissioner.

IMHO the timing is very suspicious (not that I disapprove, mind you). Jerry Jones wants to get rid of Goodell and getting one of the biggest sponsors of the league to criticize "NFL Leadership" would resonate with ownership. Makes me think they have a backroom agreement and maybe Papa John will get a discount on his Cowboys sponsorship or something like that.

I'm not sure if this will lead to a Papa John's-Cowboys relationship. It certainly could, but what's interesting is that, for the last 2 1/2 years or so, when someone has asked what it will take to get rid of Goodell, a common response has been "As long as the league keeps making money, the owner's don't care what the commissioner does." Now, a big advertiser is publicly complaining about losing money due to Goodell's inaction.

This doesn't mean other advertisers are unhappy, the owners are nervous or even that the tide is turning, but there's more scrutiny of Goodell from the right people than when we were hoping the Brady court cases would be the end of him in 2015.

Papa John's already has a close relationship with the Cowboys and Jones.

Everywhere I've been had at least a house of pizza in pretty much every small town with more than maybe a thousand or so people.

I've lived in every part of the country and visited 49 of 50 states (Alaska remains a final frontier in my quest for 50) BradyFTW is spot on - not only do small towns have at least one, medium sized towns and suburban areas have so many you can often compare amongst styles. I've found the NY style my wife likes at every stop of 10 states we've lived in (usually after trial and error as many say NY style, most don't meet her standards).

It's our consumer & convenience culture that supports chains regardless of product, but there's also been a shift in very recent years away from big box corporate delivery (just look at the "cut the cord" issue as another example, for multiple reasons) to alternative means amongst some segments of what was once a much larger audience.

Despite having all these options, Domino's, Papa John's, Pizza Hut and Little Caesar's all have multiple stores very near to me that do plenty of business. I think a lot of people are just comfortable with familiarity and like what they've had before and what they see on TV.
True, and they have some things that 'old school' places may or may not have, such as late hours especially for delivery, web sites or mobile apps for easy ordering and tracking of rewards, lots of advertising, etc. But none of that is free, and you pay for it (and a lot of corporate overhead) by less quality/quantity.

Let me try to pull all the comments into a cohesive remark:

Papa John's pizza tastes like butt.

Also...

Pizza is served and enjoyed across many cities and towns throughout the U.S.
Greek pizza is not as favorably regarded as Italian pizza.
Worcester is awesome.
Deus is alleged to periodically make inane, fact-free comments.

We make fun of Papa Johns here in NE because every small town has like two or three local pizza places. Elsewhere in the country, it's not like that and the only place to get pizza is from chains like Papa Johns.

Most major metro areas have choices that make the national chain pizza taste like a piece of cardboard with bland cheese like food and ketchup. We do in the DC area. I guess the chains come in at the exurbs, small towns, and rural locales (delivery in 1 hour or it’s free!)

Hes an idiot.

Worst. Pizza. Ever.

Domino's is kicking ass.

No, it’s like this pretty much everywhere in the Northeast, including NY, NJ and CT.
Last time I looked, CT is part of NE!

It’s DEFINITELY NOT part of New York!

.
That pizza is harsh worse than Dominoes and they suck also.

Yea I just never understood pizza chains like that. Why would anyone go to Papa Johns, Little Ceases or Dominos? I use 6 different local pizza places and each has a slightly different type. The closest I come to a chain is Regina in Alston a few times a year or an occasional Unos which is more of a true restaurant
When lazy I would rather throw in a $5 frozen pizza from my local market rather than buy from a chain - they all suck.

Wouldn't even touch Papa John's if I was high.

Domino's, on the other hand...
