Jimmy Garoppolo traded to SF for 2018 2nd round draft pick

Good players want to play, he wasn't signing a friendly deal to sit on the bench when he can make $20m+ a season and start.

Nothing fun about winning if you're sitting watching someone else do all the winning.

Would it make any money difference?
I think sf gets hit the same whether trade or cut.
Must be because pats will give him a lower salary.

I don't know about Hoyer's termination pay, and I don't care enough to look it up (Miguel or Jason might), but this may allow him to double dip a bit.

Wow. Just, wow. Maybe that 2 is a chip for a deadline trade in the next couple of weeks.
One thing's for sure. BB is sold on TB12 and this "longevity" thing.

Give it a few days and posters will be saying he sucks:D

Ah we didn’t know if he was good ...not really....

Kidding....but had to...hope the kid does well in SF.

The amount of back pedaling going on here is sky high lol. We went from "YEA TWO FIRSTS MINIMUM FOR JG" to "HE WAS NEVER GONNA BE OUR QBOTF"
You have to look at who is saying it because there were 2 factions and they did not agree that we could get 2 1s or that he was going to be here beyond this year.

So, Belichick had JAG as a backup for half the season, Hoyer for the rest of the season (at least), AND received a draft choice in the very low 30's for someone he had no intention of re-signing or franchising.

Likely the 32nd pick

You mean to use tomorrow? Deadline is Tomorrow.

Still doesn’t make sense ..... they would have gotten a 3rd rounder for him if they just let him walk

Wow. Didn’t think they’d actually find a partner. Think that’s pretty good value too for him though some ready-now help would have been nice.

Good luck to him! The search for the heir to Brady continues...

See I thought they were asking for 2 1sts not because he was worth it but because he was their QBOTF and it'd take that much to pry him away

Yes, note my edit.
