Yeah, to give up the 2nd I think they're already pretty sure he's the long-term answer for them. But 8 games to make sure that's the case can't be a bad thing, if only because it helps you make sure you aren't getting into another Brock Osweiler fiasco. Which they aren't, and I would think anyone who watched them both play understands that, but I still get the value of making the trade now. Plus they can tag him now.

I'll admit that if we do indeed re-sign Hoyer, I'll be satisfied. I like him as a backup despite what everyone has been saying for years and years. I'll never give up on the guy.
