What is funny about 28-3? Seriously, I'm asking.

But we are the preeminent franchise in NFL history. As a fanbase we should be above such tactics.

You do understand 'fan' comes from fanatic, right? Fans aren't supposed to be level headed and reasonable. That's for work, not for sports...

Fans of 30 other franchises despise that Patriots and aren't above going down the 'Cheatriots' road, even if they are just doing it to be annoying. Sports is entertainment, so why, when we are the dominant team, should we not have revel in the success and tease other fans? F*ck 'em. I'll throw it right back. 28-3 is hilarious. The Falcons and their fans were ****y as sh*t going into that Superbowl and were stupid enough to start celebrating early against the comeback kid himself. So yeah, I love the trolling. I hope it never stops. I'll order the 28-3 special with a side of artificial crowd noise, please.

Not sure how someone could turn the symbol of your team overcoming insurmountable odds on the biggest stage in sports into a slight, but that's fandom for you.

Please tell us you don’t feel bad for Atlanta fans. We’re Patriots fans that really don’t care about opposing fans “feelings”.

Seriously

No,I seriously don't know why it was funny. Yes,I hated Blank for his small role in deflategate. Yes, it is funny if a guy tries an impressive bicycle trick but screws up at hits his balls and the premature celebration was funny- in February. How it is still humorous in October escapes me.

BTW, being a Patriots fan does not require abandoning empathy. I bet even you have dark places where you feel sorry for the Browns fans - I mean when you stop laughing.

If you don't get it, then it probably can't be explained to you

Probably the best answer.

@Lucker1965

Me: It's funny.
You: What do you mean's it's funny?
Me: You know, It's funny the way they blew the lead.
You: What do you mean funny? Like the way they sucked out there or something?
Me: You know, it's funny. The way the whole game went and everything
PatFanKen: No Lurker, you got it all wrong
You: Yo Ken, he's a big boy he knows what he said. what do you mean, funny how?
Me: J-just you know, it's funny.
You: You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little messed up maybe, but It's funny how, I mean funny like they're a clown show? They amuse you? It's make you laugh, The Falcons are here to freakin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How is it funny?
Me: .....Get the F**k out of here Lurker! ;)
You: I ALMOST HAD HIM! I worry about you Bob, you might bandwagon to the Jets!

It's not super funny (though yes of course ****-talk will be had) it's more a symbol of grit.

This thread is dumb.

As someone pointed out on Facebook...between 2:08 left in the 3rd quarter of SB51 to 2:08 left in the third quarter of this game, the Patriots outscored the Falcons 51-0.

I found that even more hilarious than 28-3.

The Falcons scored at 4:09. At the time The Pats were 23-7, making it 54 unanswered points since 2:08 in the 3Q of the Super Bowl.

We're on to San Diego er eh Los Angeles...
Well they were LA before they were San Diego before they were LA. Much like the Raiders were Oakland before they were LA , before they were Oakland and soon to be Las Vegas. Then there's the Cardinals who were Chicago, before they were St. Louis before they were Phoenix before they were Arizona... And the Rams were LA before they were St Louis before they were LA....

Yea I'm not saying 18-1 still holds its power.. But before the last 2 titles it still hurt me to think about.. I know I'm not alone

Like the Beli-Hulk avatar.

It's funny to me because of their premature celebrating. And then they realised that they were about to become another statistic....

Atlanta Journal Constitution writer Jeff Schultz in his column today

This game wasn’t about trying to bring closure to the Super Bowl because, let’s be real, that closet door never will be closed. The Boston Red Sox won three World Series in a 10-year span but people still remember Bill Buckner letting a ground ball go through his legs against the New York Mets in 1986. Dallas Cowboys fans didn’t forget Jackie Smith dropping a touchdown pass against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1979 Super Bowl, even though they won three titles in the 1990s.

The Falcons could go on to win a Super Bowl and people will still think, “They should have two.” Ask Seattle.

So forget closure. This game was more about the Falcons showing whether their heads will remain stuck in time. The collapse that followed 28-3 spawned a cottage industry of memorabilia. There are “28-3” hats, posters, T-shirts. One reads, “Live Every Day Like It’s 28

These 2 were dancing in the press box. Guess they never heard of Tom Brady. They knew of him after the game while they were looking for their hearts, which were ripped out.

Our team explored moving to St Louis and/or Hartford...
