<rant>When Exactly Did THAT Happen?</rant>

So I get it, AR has a ring from his first season as a starter. Just like Tom Brady. After that, Brady got 2 more by the time he was at the comparable point AR's in in his career, then got 2 more in recent years.

This is not correct. Aaron "We beat ourselves because I can't give any credit to another team beating us" Rodgers won in his 3rd season as a starter. He was 6-10 in his 1st season as a starter.

Post in haste, repent at leisure.

Huh. Maybe that's where "post-haste" came from.

But what can I say, he needs to find better groups of 45 guys to hang out with. Or it might be, in part, that he needs to make them better, especially when it really matters.
He needs a better coach. If he had a better coach than McCarthy he'd have had a better post-season record. And Brady's record wouldn't be quite as good as it is if he had McCarthy instead of BB.

And if Brady had DBs a couple inches taller he'd have 7 rings.

Rodgers is an incredibly gifted QB and easily one of the most talented we've ever seen. His achievements aren't as prolific as Brady is.... but with better coaching and a better system, who knows where he'd be now.

I see no reason to sh*t on Rodgers now... can we end the GOAT debates till he returns at least?

Are you claiming he should be in the G.O.A.T debate if healthy? Someone tell the estates of Sammy Baugh and Otto Graham they are not in the G.O.A.T discussion because they are dead. :) Seriously, I think you mean bet QB this year or MVP or whatever.

Agree 100%. The league has shown time and again that being a mobile QB leaves you open to injury more frequently. If the reason you're so good also increases the potential you'll be out for the year, then maybe it's actually a liability. Durability absolutely factors in to the GOAT discussion.

I'd also say that the reason people are saying Rodgers is the best in the league right now is specifically because of the injury. They want the narrative to sound better. If God forbid, something happened to our guy, they'd absolutely begin each story with "Tom Brady, the greatest QB of all time, sustained a hand injury today when he tried to put all of his Super Bowl rings on at the same time."

(I didn't want to actually type out a real injury so I made that one up!)

Is winner the agree/ funny/ useful tag? :)

...I would've never felt the need to make this thread after Aaron Rodger sustained what might be a season-ending injury. It just comes across as petty and immature.

Do you remember what 08' felt like losing Brady..... that's where Packers fans are now. And it casts an even larger shadow over an NFL season that has lost stars like OBJ, JJ Watt, and David Johnson

I agree. He needs to immediately apologize to any and all Packer fans reading the Patriot forums.

Let's be clear - I'm not criticizing Rodgers. If people were describing Rodgers as a tremendous talent whose loss is a detriment to the NFL, I'd have no issues whatsoever and this thread would not exist.

I guess, unlike me, you're not sick of hearing Rodgers described as the best QB in the league when the GOAT has won two of the last three Super Bowls and keeps getting up from crushing hits and playing through pain at age 40. Perhaps, unlike me, you don't get annoyed by people saying "Rodgers' career isn't over, he's only 33 and could be the GOAT depending on how the rest goes" when he would have to basically get to every Super Bowl from now until he retires and win 4 out of 6 to even get in the conversation. You think Rodgers' game based mostly on his athleticism is going to age well? Perhaps I'm too easily offended. But I don't care.

You know, he's right. You need to apologize to all the Green Bay Packer fans reading the Patriot forums.... (chew on it a second ... :) )

Since the beginning of 2009, Aaron Rodgers has 281 TD, 61 INT, and a 105.8 passer rating to along with 21 rushing TD.

In that same time frame Brady has 272 TD, 68 INT, and a 100.9 passer rating and 12 rushing TD.

Is it really such a travesty to entertain the idea that Rodgers might be slightly better? (Personally, I would take Brady, but if I put him ahead of Rodgers he's ahead by a hair.)

People are going to be quick to scream "YEAH, BUT WINS!" or "YEAH, BUT SUPER BOWLS!", but Brady has the luxury of the best coach in NFL history. What would their resumes look like if the roles were reversed? (Brady spends his whole career with Mike McCarthey, Rodgers his whole career with Belichick?)

I hate how thin-skinned sports fans are. Go outside and get a breath of fresh air. It's like, at worst, someone thinks Brady is the second-best QB in the league, and it's now perceived as a giant slap in the face. Practically everyone has conceded that Tom Brady is the GOAT at this point. This isn't "disrespectful". Please, have some perspective.

(Sigh) Pull up a chair, or if you've read this already, move on.

Wins, or rings count as much as any other stat in a TEAM game.

Pick a stat. Any stat. They are all ”team” stats. There have to be blockers. There has to be a receiver. There has to be receivers running what end up as decoy routes. There might even be a running back who fakes running before becoming a receiver. You even need a line backer who co-ordinates a defense that stops the other team so the QB does not feel he has to force risky throws.

In one season you can say it is a small sample. Multiple wins (or rings) takes that away.

If you argue away wins, congrats, you just argued away all stats. Be it TDs, int., or paser rating you cite.

BTW, Blake Bortles likes your argument. We all know Blake Bortles is the true G.O.A.T :)
