I am really excited to watch the team this year.
Not sure how far we get in the playoffs but not really worried about it as this team will be fun to watch all year.

Then ... maybe ... we knock off the Cavs but enjoy the season first.

I’m more excited about this season than the previous season, we have Kyrie who is a big upgrade over Thomas. Looking forward to see this team in the regular season and how they do.

I cannot remember being so excited about a pre season game - tonight, I am tailgating it with some junk food.

7:30 EST ... Celtics starters vs. Hornets: Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, Al Horford, Aron Baynes

Nice start. Baynes is a great pickup, and Theis is the real deal. All the finesse of Olynyk combined with the physicality of Jerebko only better than both.

There is an extremely competitive fight for being on the 2nd unit which is great.

OMG - Looks like Gordon Hayward broke his leg 6 minutes into the game on an alley oop play.

Just horrible for Gorden - hopefully it does not hinder his life or career.

How many times those guys jump sky high and nothing - such a freak accident ... incredible **** luck.

Watched it again - gruesome - looks like broken at the ankle.

SUpposedly a clean break. Saw an orthopedic dr who said 4-5 months was reasonable, which would bring him back sometime after the middle of February.
Very pleased with how Brown and Tatum stepped up. 39 points and 16 boards between them.

it would be a miracle if he can come back at all this year. I wouldn't count on it. but my fingers are crossed, even if he does come back. it's going to take him awhile to get back to 100 percent. ill be happy if he's back next year ready to go.

I keep seeing people react as though he had his leg amputated. All indications are it was a clean ankle break. The prognosis for that is pretty straight forward.

His season, and the Celtics', is over. Better luck next near.

I would be surprised to see him back this year, but it seems there is no reason he can't be the same guy this time next year

in the meantime, Jalen Brown will evolve into Dominique Wilkins

Love the contributions by our bench vs. Bucks tonight...they did because they were given minutes...feel very good, win or lose

It’s going to be an interesting season. In order to be a decent team we need kyrie to be an efficient, elite scorer. Without Hayward Cleveland, Toronto, milwaukee are the top 3 seeds and I don’t think, barring injuries we are in the group.

The Philly game will be interesting to see how we match as Simmons looked really good inside and Embiid is a monster

I do not think Stevens is going to get away with playing Kyrie off the ball.
If anything I am intrigued with playing Rozier off the ball to aid in scoring from the 2 position.
Hayward is a unique player who would have been great playing the 2 - I do not think we can replace that in the same manner.
At some point Tatum may adapt to that position - he's a rookie and it will take time if that's Steven's plan.

If you felt very good about Wednesday night, then you'll be feeling very good all season long.

One of the bad things about the Hayward injury is that, from an offensive perspective, this season is now the Kyrie Irving Show, with Uncle Al Horford parking his lazy ass on the 3-point line waiting for the kick-out that may or may not come. Meanwhile, all of those potential offensive rebounds from all of the Irving, Brown, Rozier & Smart misses? Fuhgeddaboutit.

LOLonzo Ball had 3 points in his NBA debut.
